No worries Beeweew! I can't deny, the weeks right before you hear back are definitely anxious. But, the big day is almost here and it will honestly be worth the wait🙂

As always, I am praying for you, Dr.Dang and everyone else on this thread to receive a Howard acceptance for class of 2015! 👍
 
Can anyone help me figure out when invites/rejections are sent out? email or snail-mail? i have been complete since Nov and still no news. Thanks!

p.s. what does out-of-committee mean?
 
I believe rejections are sent out at the very end! both invites and rejections are sent via email

new to studentdoc...love this thread..all the support is amazing!!

Wishing for an interview as well...love everything HU stands for..complete since mid October and haven't heard anything yet

I sent Ms Walk an update/ LOI via emial, but I didnt get a reply or confirmation!

Should I call or resend another one?

You should call and make sure they got it. I think somebody here posted that they wasted a month waiting because they sent an update and Ms. Walk never received it.. 😵

It means that the admissions committee has completed the full review of your file (including your interview evaluation) and reached a decision.

Did you receive an email on 12/16/2010 stating the following:

Season's Greetings from the Nation's Capital

With more than 6400 verified applicants (the highest number ever at Howard), we have been working long hours in order to review every secondary application and AMCAS application. It is a tedious job.

As a reminder:
- We continue to acknowledge secondaries via email. We will be catching up during this quiet time.
- ALL SECONDARIES MUST BE POSTMARKED BY JANUARY 15.
- We have completed about one-half of our interviews and are now inviting candidates for January interviews. However, we are taking a few weeks off to recoup from a strenuous fall.
- Interviews will continue through March; however, the class is filing. Invitations to interview are sent by email about four weeks before the days we are considering.
- We will take the January MCAT (RETAKES ONLY). However, it is up to you to let us know via email when you receive your scores. Please note: This will be very late in the application process and we cannot guarantee you that we will review you again.
- After March, we will begin sending final emails to those of you not interviewed or considered.

The Admissions Office will be closed to visitors from Monday, December 20 until Monday, January 3, 2011.

We hope that you will take time to enjoy the holidays. And, we wish you a joyous, safe, and relaxing holiday season.

Hi Notorious725,

I believe this Holiday email (December 16th) was the last one she sent to everybody. All the emails I received after that one were specifically addressed to me. Hope that helps~!

Yea Notorious725... I received that email and I sent a Thank you and a Letter of Interest in response to that email..(not direct reply, since it stated not to reply to it)

Thats also the last I heard from HU too..but its better than most schools who I have yet to hear a peep from since submitting my secondaries in October

I will love to be part of the Class of 2015 here..the comradery shown on this thread heightens my interest to this school A LOT

I just realized.. 5 more months until Freshman Orientation!!!! So excited! I can't wait to start!

This only reinforces my desire to attend a school such as Howard Univ!

:whoa:! SpaceDoc, I will commend you on trying to redirect the conversation, though!! I feel exactly the same way as you do: I love the vibe that you get from this forum and also from HU students... the family kind of feeling! It really reiterates my choice and my passion for this school!!

Random suggestion- if anyone is still in school, I highly recommend taking molecular basis of human disease and pharmacology! Very interesting classes 😀

Everything is great!!!! Yes I know I have been MIA for a while for some strange reason but I am back and in full effect LOL!!! Yes I am patiently waiting and I am about to send Ms. Walk and update soon. Well keep the faith and everything will work out.👍

I'm nervous too OneMike...

However, something tells me that we will all be okay regardless of the decision. We have all worked hard enough- and against unfavorable odds too. In light of this, we have to continue to push forward and anticipate the day that our dreams are recognized.

The waiting game is so hard; I know this.. and I applaud the persistence and patience of those waiting to hear back from Howard. I still pray for you all.

Hold steady future class of 2015...

I completely understand that feeling, OneMike. I can't deny the waiting period made me ridiculously nervous and anxious. But, as voyager implied below, we are all STRONG applicants, or else Howard would not have interviewed you.

Just keep up the persistence, send updates to Ms. Walk, and try your best to remain optimistic. And never forget you'll never be alone--applying to medical school, going through medical school, applying to residency etc--we're in this together now!

Let's GO HOWARD!!! Show my SDN buddies some love!!! :highfive:

Seriously! OneMike, Voyager, Whatupron, reading your comments just made my day. I have been so anxious all morning... this waiting period really is humbling and terrifying at the same time.
