People on SDN said February because last year a batch of decisions was released February 1st. However, this was not the case two years ago and doesn't seem to be the case this year, either.

But no, they said "On or before March 1" take that as you will...

Is waitlist the worst case scenario for people who have interviewed or does NYU reject post-interview on March 1st as well?

I'm fairly certain it's accept or waitlist...
 
Nah a small number have been rejected outright I believe.
 
People generally don't report rejections on here. I'd bet a small though not insignificant portion get rejected post-interview.
 
Last week of February, here we go. Anyone think those accepted will find out this week?

In either case, we should all (hopefully) know our status by next Tuesday!

This is the longest week I have ever encountered.
 
Finally got the official pre-interview rejection via email.
 
Was expecting it since invites haven't gone out in months, but received the mass reject e-mail, so some closure here finally. Good luck everyone else! And try not to stress too much before your decision day coming up for those who interviewed.
 
FINALLY got rejected...even though I knew it was coming, I like the closure. 🙂

Last years app cycle thread. Midnight release. 🙂 Although, taking a look further back, the 2009 and 2010 notification emails were sent out during the day on 3/1. hm.

Short answer: I'm being an optimist.
 
I'm being an optimist as well that it's like last year (and hence, midnight)...

(I was going to screenshot my Dashboard countdown widget but I figured that would be too much 😛)

I would love to get accepted, but if I don't, on March 1st I will know where I'm going to medical school, so that alone is worth counting down (though having NYU in the equation would be awesome).

Edit: decided it wasn't too much hahaha

Yes, I've realized that would be a difficult spot... I'm going to rely on my gut reaction if I get waitlisted, as to whether to stay on the list. If I do stay on the list, I would only stay on, max, til the end of May. I just want to know where I'm going!!!!

Agreed, me too.

On another note, is today the last NYU decision-free weekday of February? I think so.
 
Waitlisted as well... glad to get my decision, now just have to figure out if I want to stay on the list...
 
How meaningful is the waitlist? Do all interviewees who are not accepted immediately go on the list?

looks like it. i interviewed november 15th
 
Same here-- let's see if anyone gets accepted or if the "waitlists only in March" theory holds true.

I haven't been keeping up on this thread... what's the late November thing? I interviewed in January if that helps.

Some people have theorized that after mid november everyone was basically interviewing for the waitlist.

Jeez... sounds like I didn't even have a chance in January. And it sounds like the waitlist is pretty massive, so we're all basically waiting on our lottery numbers being called, right?
