I emailed them about this a couple weeks ago and their response was: "All decisions will be made by March 1. Some acceptances will be sent out earlier. Students are notified by email."
So rejections will only go out in March.

hahaha same, i interviewed in late september but haven't heard a thing!
have they rejected people yet?
could you let us know when you get the official email.
That would probably be a mass email to whoever was accepted at the same time (so no need to wait for your specific interviewer to call).

i bet it wont be at the same time as the mass email... but just a thought.
Last 2 years the mass emails went out on either a Friday or a Monday in the middle of December (which would mean that this year decisions would most likely go out on the 17th or the 20th)). However, the few decisions given out already make things a lot more confusing. 😕

+1 on the whole confused thing...congrats to all those w/ acceptances. I didn't interview here until mid-November so I expect to wait a while...December 17th sure would be nice though 😀
I am guessing interviews up through late November will still hear in like 2-3 weeks. They seem to just be testing out this rolling admissions thing on a small scale for the future.

with only like 4 people posting that they were accepted (2 each a month apart) it does seem quite isolated.
but what do they need to be testing?
I don't know if it is so much testing, but maybe just feeling out how the process would work when they have done it a different way for so long. The person who presented on my interview day kind of gave that impression that they were "testing" it out for a few people.
glad to know that there is factual basis on the testing theory- rather than us creating it so that we can keep clinging to hope😉
I just got the official e-mail, but it was definitely written in a way that assumed I already knew I'd been accepted. For example, the subject said "NYU School of Medicine Letter" and the e-mail told me that the official letter was enroute. It didn't say "NYU School of Medicine Admissions Decision" and say, "we accept you", that was implied.

It wasn't changed until today. I just paid the deposit

I had the same status change...did you already get a decision? I'm curious if it actually means something has changed of if this is just automatic...
No decision yet, interviewed on Nov 15th. I would guess it has some internal meaning, but really is insignificant to us since they won't let us know right away anyway.
im pretty sure this is what it means.
it changes from "interview scheduled" to "interview complete- final decision pending" when your interviewer files the interview report (usually the same or next day).
The committee meets once a week to discuss the prior weeks applicants so after the meeting and your "decision" is made it changes to "final decision pending".
It stays like this until they release the decision (after which it goes to "accepted" for the deposit... status).
@anfleisch- it seems that they forgot to change your status after your interview.
all of this waiting is just making me batty.
i already expressed to my interviewer how much i loved NYU and would love to be a student there. he told me to email him with any questions, and im temped to ask him if it is worth it to send an additional letter of intent to the school just to make sure they know i want to be a student there. thoughts?

@frackrack...thanks for the explanation. I don't know where you got your info but just understanding the process a bit is helpful.
@nerdtastic...thats pretty ballsy, I think it would probably be ok. but the potential for backlash seems slightly higher than a normal LOI. regardless

I'm interviewing tomorrow but I don't think I ever received a interview confirmation email and can't figure out what time to show up. I vaguely remember something about a 10:00 appointment. Is this the standard interview time or am I going to be hopelessly late if i show up at, say, 9:30?
Yea, you should have scheduled it over the phone, and they tell you to make sure you write it down. I'm sure you can call them, though.
anyone call recently? last year they didnt hear until the 18th- im wondering if they are going to send out acceptances ON the 15th this year

language used was after the 15th- so no need to go crazy till others post here that they got accepted 🙂

i sent an update letter and didn't get confirmation so i emailed them again a few days later asking if it was received and they said they got it and attached it to my file. so yeah i would follow up on it just so you know they got it.

i definitely think some people will hear decisions, it's just a question of whether it will be only people who interviewed early/up through October.
hope so!!! website says that the first decisions will be sent on the 15th, although last year it was the 18th (but who knows if the website wording changed since last year)
I doubt it.
A few of us already got decisions on December 3rd. I guess the website is not that accurate.
I interviewed Nov 18th, but my status changed to "decision pending," so I am hoping (I know it's a stretch) that means they will get to me. We'll see.
