I think a 50% chance of getting into a PT school is great compared to the less than 10% chance of getting into MD/DO schools. Even if you don't compare the odds with medical programs, it's still a great shot IMO. I guess it depends on if you view things as the "glass half full" or "glass half empty".
Any theories as to why there are not many minority PT applicants? I'm not making this a race issue by any means. I'm of Asian descent and my theory as to why there aren't many Asian applicants is because, traditionally speaking, the physical therapy occupation is not considered prestigious compared to being a medical doctor a pharmacist.
