I started late in the admission process - I just put in my primary to AMCAS last week and waiting to be verified. I'm a little freaked out because it seems that everyone on SDN has already completed their secondaries. My stats are okay - 29, non-traditional with sGPA really high (all As at WSU undergrad), but undergrad was really bad, but it's been several years since then (and have been working in business). Does anyone have ideas on whether I will have less chance getting an interview because I'm applying so late in the game?

Hey Everyone!

Congrats to those who have gotten interviews so far! I was wondering how long it took for you to receive an interview invite since your secondary app was turned in and marked as complete. As of today I have been complete for just over a month and have not heard anything. Also, does Wayne State usually send out rejection letters right away or do they wait until the end of the cycle to send them out?

Haha, I know but Dr. Pal is hilarious and makes the whole course worth it! Besides, it's pretty laid back (aka EASY). 🙂
 
Good luck to everyone that finds out tomorrow!!!!!!!!! I have had constant butterflies in my stomach for the past few days and today it's been horrible! Anyway, tomorrow they'll be gone (and hopefully replaced with excitement and happiness instead of depression and dread)... :xf:

woah. I got invited to an interview. OOS/3.6/32. This is a pleasant surprise, though don't know if I am going yet.

Hey cyanide, I actually live right across 17 mile from Athens now, but I didn't go to school in Troy. But, 3 of my cousins went to Athens! I'm assuming you went to one of them?
 
Are we supposed to call in tomorrow or is this through e-mail. I know that in the past, you had to call to find out if you were accepted, but nothing about this was mentioned when I was there.

They told me I'd receive an email sometime before 2pm tomorrow. So I'd check your email and then call if you don't get one by then.
 
Thanks, yeah it does help. I was complete 9-2 so I guess i find out soon if I get an interview or not : O
 
Someone punch me in the face and knock me out for the next 3.5 hours.....

I got the email at 10 am on the dot, but i am too afraid to open it b/c i have an exam in a half hour and i don't want to ruin my grade. did your guys' admission letter have the wayne state logo on the top?
 
I got waitlisted too but I kind of expected it since I'm OOS. Is there usually a good amount of waitlist movement?

I'm IS and this is my third application cycle and my second in which I was interviewed and waitlisted.

There is a good amount of waitlist movement, but it usually doesn't come until after May 15.
 
Congratulations to the guys who got accepted. Good job. Waitlisted guys, there is enough movement for Wayne State so keep those hopes high.
 
Is waitlist the same as alternate or does wayne state have multiple groupings for applicants that aren't accepted or rejected? Also if they are different what have people heard about alternates chances for getting bumped to accepted? Thanks in advance and congrats to those accepted.

That's understandable. At least the waitlist moves! I'll try to focus on something else in the meantime to take my mind off of it. 😛

what did the waitlist letter look like? for some reason my document didn't open up on my computer so im in limbo right now waiting for it to be resent. did your letter have the wayne state logo on the top?

It looks like it was made by a seven year old 🙂 There's no logo or anything, just a word doc with "Congralutions" in word art on top, and two paragraphs from the dean of admissions.
 
put on the alternate list...is that the same thing as waitlist?

yeah, i just called them. i got put on it as well. the lady at the desk said they don't have the stats on the movement but you're file is reviewed again by the committee each month and they make a decision then.

Yes but I feel like this went by far the best. I don't know what I could possibly have said differently. The other places I've been at won't tell me until December. This is going to be brutal.

I felt the exact same way, until I saw the results from this morning. I'm also on the waitlist...I know people who have been accepted already to other schools.

ehhh then you're good. there are others who don't even have interview invites yet...

but im making the point of be happy to at least be on a waitlist of some sort. i'm sure there are a grip of people who would love to at least be at that spot.
