Hey guys, I was looking at the statistics for applicants and matriculants at the aaocom website.

Why does alaska have 29 APPLICANTS and 45 MATRICULANTS?😕

It looks like it is probably a typo. If you look at the map for the matriculant table, it says that Alaska has 12. Spot checking between the table and the map, it seems that the numbers listed for all the other states are matching.

Related note. I'm one of those rare people who got a T on the MCATs (which will be totally useless unless i decide to write medical op ed articles, at which point people will tell me I write beautifully). But what the hell is an X on the written part???

Some great stats there. Plus, I'm glad someone has finally proven statistically that men are smarter than women

unclear if that is sarcasm..... but the women tied or outscored the men in every academic measure except for total number accepted.

and MCAT. Not that I think it matters in either case. I do think it is indicative of gender based strengths though.

I like to see that Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University is representing on that list of top 20 undergrad institutions based on matriculants!

Probably stands for xtreme. They did so well on the writing portion they took it to a whole another level.

That would explain this then. They must have been asked to write up an ad campaign. EXTREME YOUTH MARKETING!!!

It doesn't suprise me that 3 big Florida schools had so many applicants while my alma mater didn't make the list. I had an advisor tell me not to go D.O. because that would limit my practice options outside of the USA. I laughed when I left the room. Oh well things are changing. FSU pre-med is becoming more helpful to D.O. applicants and doing a much better job of helping undergrads. Especially since the number of doctors in the panhandle is dreadfully low compared to south Florida and practicing D.O.s are virtually non existant. Huge demographic problems in this part of the state when it comes to providing medical care.

If you look at the map and the numbers, they just switched alaska and alabama.
