Rejected. 🙁

I interviewed on the 3rd of January. I guess they hated me so much they didnt need more than two weeks to tell me that...

Didn't have a great interview though...so I guess it was on me...

Dang, sorry to hear that Silver.

Hey guys, I havent heard back from einstein. No rejection email or acceptance packet. I had a really good interview that was on 12/15. The doctor who interviewed me told me that hell tell the admissions committee to accept me. but im getting nwevous, howcome i haven't heard back from them yet?! and now its on rolling admissions too :scared:

I found Einstein's 2009-2010 cost of attendance for first year students here: http://www.einstein.yu.edu/admissions/page.aspx?id=3092

Do 3rd and 4th years pay the same as 1st and 2nd years? Some schools (eg, Ohio State) charge 3rd years $10,000 more than what every other year pays. I know tuition is hiked yearly, but I'm trying to compare rough costs of attendance between schools.

Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind. Looks like tuition is the same for all years: http://www.einstein.yu.edu/uploaded... Stu Fin Student Manual WITH COVER.pdf?n=8376

Interviewed 12/7 and haven't heard anything either. 🙁

for accepted students: we have to get the CSS/fin. aid/FAFSA and scholarship application in two weeks from when we got the official acceptance email, right?

I was wondering the same thing...we can't possibly fill out FAFSA/CSS/financial aid questionnaire until we get our parent's 2011 tax returns which won't be for another month or so...

well you can technically fill the FAFSA out without the 2011 tax returns and use last years as an estimate (and then I think update it later). but two weeks still seems like really fast turn around.

True. Although Einstein's due date for FAFSA, etc isn't until mid March according to the website.

Also, do current students know how many people get a scholarship? I'd love to attend Einstein but can't justify it to myself unless I receive some money unfortunately.

p.s. we totally interviewed at NYMC on the same day haha

Has anyone received the mailed acceptance packet?

Anybody from last year's applicant pool or any MS1 at Einstein know how late they went last year?

Had my interview on Tuesday and absolutely loved it! I hope I get the acceptance, going to be waiting until March before I hear anything though. But please accept me, absolutely loved the school 😀.

I emailed Einstein and was told that we should get FAFSA/CSS etc in as soon as we can but the two week time frame only applies to the scholarship application.

For the love of God, Einstein, talk to me! I want an interview at your institution! If you don't want me, say so! Don't keep me in this unending desperation. 🙁

to you who received decisions today, when did you interview?

and congrats!

high priority waitlist today... anyone know how much movement there is?

interviewed mid december

Sounds like a 4-5 week turn around time then. Here's hoping to me hearing back earlier than expected (the 6-8 weeks that I was told). 🙂

High priority list. What does this exactly mean? Is this just a glorified waiting list? I really liked the school!

is the high priority list different from the waitlist?

Since I'm obviously not on the adcom so am not positive, don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure it's exactly as it sounds--you're in a "high priority" category of the waitlist, or on a separate "high priority" list altogether. Either way, it's safe to assume that you're at the top amongst waitlisted candidates, so it's definitely a good thing. I would suggest that, if you're still interested, it couldn't hurt to let them know.

That said, for those of you on the waitlist who were not told you're "high priority," don't be disappointed. If I remember correctly, people on the regular waitlist were actually admitted last year before some on the HP list. Not really sure how it all works.

Just got put onto the High Priority Wait List. Interviewed 12/14. Hopefully I see some movement soon!

Feb interview with Einstein, Definitely the highest ranking Medical School so far that invited me for an interview.

For current medical students at Albert Einstein, do you know of anyone who interviewed beyond February and matriculated into AE?

Quite a bit of the class is from later interviews. Even some people who interviewed in May

So for the Service and Research Application the deadline is Jan 29th. Does that imply that the application is due at midnight tonight or by the end of the day tomorrow?

I am pretty sure it means the end of the day on Jan 29th... i doubt anyone is in the office to actually see whether you submitted it on Sunday vs. Saturday - nor do they care 😉

I know this sounds like a stupid question, but this application is not mandatory right? The emails / website make it seem like it's part of the things you have to submit to confirm your acceptance. This is not the case, right?

Thank you! I figured as much, but being slightly neurotic I just wanted to double check. 🙂

I doubt it's mandatory, but what do you have to lose?

Congrats to all accepted and Sorry about those who were not! I have not even interviewed yet so I can imagine the intensity. This is definitely my #1 school. I passed it all the time growing up in the Bronx.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else pre-interview received an e-mail about visiting their Office of Diversity Enhancement. I am so excited to visit their office and learn more about it first hand. Just curious if anyone has personal insight. Thanks! 🙂

What'd you guys think of accepted student day in Manhattan? I thought it was nice but they definitely could've sold the school to us a bit more...

Also, apparently the service and research scholarship ranges from $5,000 - $40,000/year for anyone wondering.

Can applicants interviewing after the Jan. 29 deadline still apply for the service and research scholarship, or is it only for students who have already been accepted?

I would love to hear more about the accepted students dinner in Manhattan since I wasn't able to attend. Did you guys learn anything helpful?

Also, can any current students tell me a little about the medical spanish program? How much of a time commitment is it?

Everyone can apply after accepted. They don't send the first awards until May 2.

It's during lunch, couple of times a week for a couple of months. Not a huge time commitment if you want to do it - depends on how you schedule your time.
