Each bedroom has full walls - what lincoln5 was referring to is that in some cases, people whose apartments have had the conversion (and don't have a living room anymore) have turned part of the gigantic bedroom (the converted living room) into a partial living room by setting up a divider within the wall-enclosed bedroom. however, this is just a choice people are making, and since it's someone's bedroom, they would have to agree with it.

in other words, you can still have a makeshift living room if you want, it will just be "in" someone's bedroom, and that person would have to agree to host a living room in their room.

Thanks for the reply 🙂

Anyone set up a meeting with a specific PI in addition to their interview? If so, what did the meeting entail (tour of the PI's lab / more interviewing (why you're interested in their lab))?

Also, can any current student comment on research opportunities during the school year under the MD program? Or are they just for summer projects / extra year projects?

Edit: And anyone else interviewing on March 26th ? (or are interviewees generally not grouped)?

I just received an interview invite today..... I will not be attending so I hope one of you gets my slot 🙂

Majin, when I got my interview offer, they said they were booking for the week of April 16th (since they don't interview the week of the 9th (no idea why). So I'm guessing there's still quite a bit of interview offers to be made?

I have been accepted thanks 🙂 I don't want to be selfish so I am w/d. I was complete back in august I believe. I have no idea how they organize their application review process.....

I never was able to see the scheduling, because they just told me to reply with some dates about a month from now. But their information site says that they interview from August until 6 weeks from the date of your invite.... so that makes sense... mid april? if not later

Good luck.

They probably don't interview that week because of Easter.

Anyone have any idea if LOIs work here? Still waiting on an acceptance somewhere and thought I should stroke their ego a bit.

Complete back in mid December and still no word.

I sent one and I'm here. I have no idea if it affected the outcome, but I always felt like they really can't hurt as long as you're sure that you come across well in your writing.

Most schools like having their egos stroked as you said, and they like being confident that applicants will take their acceptance offer. However, make sure it's not all about them. It's a great opportunity to explain why you are right for Einstein and vice-versa. Good luck.

I interviewed on 2/13 but haven't heard any decision yet. Has anyone else interviewed around then heard anything? Or have any idea when I might hear?

i interviewed on 2/14. haven't heard anything either... i'm guessing it's going to be another 3 weeks or so before we hear back... but i'm getting nervous, doesn't seem like anyone has been getting acceptances lately.

FYI, I interviewed on 2/6 and my interviewer said it typically takes around 6 weeks, so my guess is more of a wait is involved. Also, people on here who interviewed in mid-January are still waiting as well.

Exactly, I interviewed 1/17 and I have not heard anything back yet. Hopefully this week or the next. I was told 6-8 weeks and I am now on week 7, so we'll see soon enough.

Interview invite this morning! I was told to provide a number of dates I prefer, so not sure how far into April they're scheduling for yet.

I am going to be pessimistic and say 1-2 more weeks, just cause that's how this process seems to go everywhere.

Yes post interview! Interviewed 1/23 said about 6 weeks so should hear back soon. As should most of the other late January interviewees

High Priority waitlisted. I interviewed on 1/17. 4.0/34

Interviewed 1/23 - High priority waitlist 3.7/32.

What are the chances of getting in from this? I've looked a bit from the thread from last year and this year's thread and can't really figure out exactly what this means...is this a "most likely acceptance" down the line...also someone wrote earlier that people were accepted from the regular waitlist before the high priority waitlist which doesn't make sense. Einstein is my one choice and I wrote a letter of interest a few weeks ago..should I write another in a month? Also anyone know the timetable on when to hear back from this? Thanks!

That was probably me. I was recalling last year when they admitted a few people in the thread off of the regular waitlist while a few others who identified themselves as being on the high priority list hadn't been admitted yet. I'm not sure what the deal was with that, maybe it was a fluke, or maybe those people were actually on the HP list...I don't know. But I believe that being on the HP list is a good thing and means you'll be given priority should spots open up in the class.

No one can guess what your chance of getting in off of the waitlist is, since it's entirely dependent on how much movement there is, as well as who the committee decides to take off the WL. If it were me, I'd definitely stay in contact with them while you wait, let them know they are your top choice, send an update if you have one, etc.

Straight up rejection - interviewed 2/6. I have to say I'm a little puzzled. Thought the interview went well, aside from my interviewer being kind of rude. No acceptances anywhere else yet.

3.8 /34 if it matters. Good luck India and Hotshy!

Sent from my SPH-M920 using SDN Mobile

Sorry to hear that. Have you had other post interview rejections? Maybe email / ask Einstein the reason for the rejection? If they let you know it will probably be useful for other interviews.

For what it's worth, multiple told me that had obnoxious interviewers at Einstein. I lucked out - my guy was great!

Good Luck!

Interview 12/7, high priority waitlist 1/26. Accepted to one school and withdrew my apps from all other schools that hadn't gotten back to me. Just sent in a letter of intent and keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone know if they accept people off the waitlist before May 15? I called the admissions office and the person said that they look at the waitlist as they get withdrawals.

For those still waiting to hear anything, I wanted to let you know I just got a pre-interview rejection. Pretty expected at this point! Good luck everyone!

Thanks for sharing, and sorry to hear, but i see you got an acceptance at GW so congrats! Do you mind sharing when you were complete?

Looked it up - was complete 9/9. And thanks - I am pretty excited about GW. Good luck!

Appreciate the input guys congrats to all those accepted and on the waitlist...I'm sure there will be some movement....this process is grueling!

Post-interview rejection today, interviewed 2/7. Good luck to all waiting, and congrats to accepted!

Seems like today's D-day, :S !

Anyone who already interviewed, where did you stay when you interviewed (hotel? any recommendations?) -- what are your thoughts on the Radisson in New Rochelle, NY? Thanks.

Complete Late October
Interview Late February
Waitlisted Early March (not high priority)

right now I'm trying to figure out my chances of getting in from the regular waitlist. It seems like after the May 15 deadline the waitlist has movement and is halved. I've seen some people go from regular waitlist to high-priority to acceptance in last year's thread so it is possible. But I don't know how common this is.

According to last year's thread:

"After sending an initial round of acceptances on January 15th, acceptances are offered on a rolling admission basis.
Approximately 400 applicants will be placed on the wait-list from January through the summer months. Beginning in May, the wait-list is re-evaluated and halved. By July, about 50 applicants remain active on the wait-list and by the day of Orientation, approximately 20 remain active. The wait-list is not ranked.
Applicants who have decided that Einstein is their first choice school are encouraged to communicate their intentions with us in writing and, in August, by telephone.
Applicants should be certain that the Office of Admissions can communicate with them after they have left school or are traveling during the summer months. All address changes, telephone number changes and email changes should be reported in case of a late acceptance. Applicants should have a family member or friend designated to receive communications and make decisions in case the applicant is unreachable"

So according to this and the MSAR data 28% of people who interviewed got on a waitlist (proportion of high priority to regular waitlist unknown)

Does anybody know:
#1: How many people are placed on the high-priority waitlist before May 15
#2: How many people are accepted/rejected before May 15

I loved this school and just want to figure out my chances of getting in

Hey, thanks for the idea. I was thinking of calling them, but unsure whether they'll give me any real targeted feedback. Looking back, it was a pretty weird interview experience. So far (fingers crossed) that is my only post-interview rejection. Waiting to hear from two others, and actually have what is likely my last interview tomorrow at OHSU. It's one of those multiple mini interviews, so I am certain it will be a very different situation from AECOM.

Glad your interviewer worked out, and wish you the best of luck in the rest of this cycle!

Rejected this morning pre-interview via email

Hey guys,

I am pretty sure I am going to attend Einstein (hopefully financial aid doesn't screw me over!!) I loved the school when I interviewed!!!

Just a couple of questions..... does anyone know when we are supposed to get our financial aid package? Will it be before we submit our deposit?

Also, does anyone know how the third and fourth year is graded on? Is it H/HP/P?

Let-go!

Hey everyone!

I received an interview invitation a few days ago. I was really hoping to get a chance to meet Dr. Marion at AECOM, but unfortunately, due to constraints, I have to decline the invite.

With that said, I certainly hope that my interview invite goes to one of you on here! I was given options past April 16th.

Good luck! :luck:

P.S. How gorgeous is their new children's hospital? http://montekids.org/guide/virtual-tour/

Withdrew my spot today. This was one of my favorite schools by far, really an excellent school with a great student body! :luck: to those waiting for AECOM, pre- or post-interview 🙂
