2011-2012 App Cycle for 2012 Entry: AADSAS GPA Consideration and DAT date

Hey guys,

First off I am a Canadian citizen.

So I found this thread http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=288425 detailing AADSAS calculation of with / without +/- GPAs.

Anybody have any idea if AADSAS will still be calculating both with and without +/- this year? And whether many of the private schools (BU, Tufts, UoP, USC, NYU) still prefer considering the w/o? Verification anyone?

I ask because my with +/- ogpa is at 3.46 whereas it jumps to significantly above 3.5 without +/-.

Also, first time DAT writer here. If I want to esubmit June 1st, does anyone see a problem / conflict with mailing out LORs and Transcripts (from Canada) June 1st as well, and writing the DAT mid-June?

well the cycle does open on June 1st, but you need to submit transcript matching form to the school (this form, you generate it on AADSAS once the cycle opens) and then the school sends it off to AADSAS. so even when the cycle opens, you can't really submit the day of. you have to wait for AADSAS to receive it. only things you can esubmit without are DAT and LOR I believe.

You cannot submit grades etc to get verified prior to june 1st>?

The idea of seeing a B+ as a B or an A- as an A is just complete non sense to me. What the hell does that even mean? A person who got an A is not the same as the one who got an A- . I am sure schools look at A+,A-, B+.......
