interview invite yesterday! super excited. i've been complete since august and was assuming a rejection so this was definitely a pleasant surprise

I was complete 10/6 and haven't heard anything yet...this is one of my top choices...should I be worried?

based on my own experiecne and the complete-interview invite timespan of others: if its one of your top choices, you should start worrying early-mid january. otherwise, febish.

Interview invite today. Was complete since early August. Still hope.

To those of you that have already interviewed, did the admissions staff mention a ballpark number of students that they will be accepting to fill the ~80 spots? Congrats to all those who recently received interview invites! I am interviewing in January! Best of luck to you!

SUGrad09, they said they accept 200-250 out of about 650 interviewees.

This ridiculous school never sent me a secondary app. I assumed I got screened out, and then just today, they send me a "reminder" email with secondary app access.

Am I just stupid, or did this happen to anyone else? I'm pretty sure I checked carefully, including spam filters, for a couple of months when I was getting and filling out secondaries.

This happened to me with another school but, Dartmouth sent secondary before I was even verified

I just got an interview invite. The spots offered were late Jan and early feb

just to let you know, i got offered these dates today but called the admissions office and got scheduled for an interview in early january. 🙂

Anyone know if they'll continue sending out acceptances in small batches or if we'll have to wait until they finish interviewing now?

I had this same question. I interviewed in late September and know other applicants who interviewed around the same time who haven't heard anything as of yet. Are there any current DMS students on this thread who can shed light on how DMS handles their acceptances?

At interview day, they told us that they give everyone a number after interviews based on application and how interviews went. Then they slot us into a long list of everyone who has interviewed. Every once in a while, the director of admissions will send out acceptances to people at the top of the list, send out rejections to people at the bottom of the list, and everyone in between is in the waiting stage. They also said they're extremely conservative about people they're accepting because they want to make sure they keep room for people who interview later in the season. Hang in there guys! No news is good news!

Question: There seems to have been 2 groups of pre-interview rejections so far (based on this thread). If you manage to scrape by without being rejected while being complete in August do you guys think that means anything?

*hopeful*

Only that you haven't been rejected.

haha, you an me both...another complete-in-August hopeful.

Usually I open my inbox wishing to see something from Dartmouth. However, noticing the couple posts from earlier today -- I'll be happy to not hear from them for awhile. 😳
I was complete in August too and got my invite two days ago

Sorry to hear about the pre-interview rejections. If you don't mind, when were you complete? And did you hear via e-mail? Good luck the rest of this application cycle!

I was complete in late July, and yes I received an email.

also complete in Aug, also invited ~2 days ago!

For those of you complete in August, do you mind posting or sending me your mcat/gpa? I was complete then and have my fingers crossed for an interview!

Complete in August, interview invite in October, interviewed a few weeks ago. 33R, 3.5. Good luck!

AMCAS complete end of August, secondary complete first week of September. 30S MCAT, 3.87GPA, interview invite came in November 🙂. Good luck everyone, don't give up, it'll come!

Anyone who interviewed on or after nov 14 hear back? Anyone call admissions and find out about next release date/committee meetings?

How do I get there? Has anybody flown to Hanover airport?

I don't know about flying into the Hanover airport, or to what extent that is an option.

Here are some possibilities:

From NYC - Dartmouth coach

From Boston - Dartmouth coach or greyhound (the latter to white river junction$

From montreal - greyhound to WRJ

From Burlington VT - greyhound (picks up from airport) to WRJ or train?

From Manchester NH - greyhound

Or rent a car from any of the above locations

If the weather is decent, you could fly into Burlington and rent a car at the airport. I stayed at the Windjammer in Burlington and it was pretty nice. They also have a shuttle van to take you to and from the airport (or around town). It's a really nice drive between Burlington and Hanover. Hotels in Hanover are very expensive, although there are a few more reasonable ones just a few miles outside of Hanover in White River Junction. Burlington to Hanover is about 70 miles and you won't get lost. You could also take the bus or train from Burlington into WRJ if the weather is dicey.

The Boston to Hanover via Dartmouth Coach didn't work for my flight schedule, plus I interviewed at Vermont the same week so it made more sense for me to fly into Burlington. This link may help with other options - http://www.dartmouth.edu/~lhc/travel.html

Not sure how Dartmouth got so famous considering where they are located, but somehow they made it work pretty well!
