Did everyone who is complete/got an II/placed on hold get a complete email? My status changed to complete 3 weeks ago and yesterday I got a complete email. I am confused if I have been complete for 3 weeks or complete for a day😕

Interview, never got a complete email.

I got a complete email and later received an interview invite.

complete as of 7/25 and just got the on hold status

Interview invite! Complete end of July, and did not receive a complete email. My invite was just on the status page but I haven't received any email regarding this invite

+1 for hold. not even the courtesy of an email. I've checked pretty much everyday since submitting in July. 👎

Joining the hold party. Looks like it's already a packed house!

Does anyone know what time we will be finished on interview day? I haven't received an email invite, just an invite on the status page and there is no information regarding how long the interview day is!

"Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision." Looks like I'm joining the hold party.

Is anyone else surprised by being put on hold?

I definitely wouldn't say Drexel was a safety but my stats were a bit above their averages and (I hope!) my LORs and ECs were not bad. Plus I got interviews from other similarly ranked schools. Drexel was a top consideration because I have friends/family in the area and I'm just wondering if they look for something specific outside of grades that perhaps I am missing. I'm trying not to let it get to me but clearly it's not going so well. 😳

I was only surprised bc I figured that since my stats were not too far from theirs that I would have been given a chance....This definitely does not look good for the other schools that I applied to. 🙁

Thank you for your application. Your file has been reviewed and will be re-evaluated later in the season for a final decision.

ON HOLD!😕

they've had all parts of my app since 7/25 and still no decision available...wah

Interview invite! I'm thinking sometime in October 2_... 🙂

For those of you on hold, if you don't mind me asking, what were your stats? Were they average or quite competent for the median at Drexel?

3.52 GPA 30Q MCAT, complete 7/25 and on hold as of yesterday. So i'm about as average as one can get, maybe a little below.

Does anyone know if it is beneficial to interview the earliest date possible for drexel? I'm trying to plan all my east coast interviews around the same time, would it be detrimental if I interviewed nov 10 vs. 1st week of october?

Generally, for schools that have rolling admissions (basically most schools except a few like HMS) it's better to interview the earliest date possible. As acceptances go out and deposits come in, the number of vacant class seats diminishes.

In your case, however, the dates are pretty close. Since Drexel interviews into April, I think you should be fine interviewing the 10th of November.

Interviewing earlier in the season is also a good idea b/c traveling during winter sucks.

One thing you may want to consider is as the app season rolls along, it will take longer and longer for them to make decisions, given the holidays and developing backlog. People interviewing early last year (late Sept-early Oct) had heard as quickly as 4-6 weeks, but those interviewing Nov and beyond took the whole 6-8 or more. It won't affect your actual decision, but if you're impatient it's something to take into consideration. 🙂

I can't believe you guys are on hold with such good stats at Drexel...it just appears in comparison to other schools that its relatively "easier" to get into...i guess not. Wow

I got a hold at Drexel and I have 2 top 20 interviews. Guess it doesn't matter.

They don't like being treated as a safety school.

I agree that it doesn't much matter what your stats are beyond a certain threshold, but how is anyone "treating [Drexel] as a safety school"? There's no secondary essay, and no way for them to see what other schools I've applied to, so for all they know Drexel is my number one choice. Is applying to Drexel with high-ish numeric stats supposed to be insulting to the Adcom?

complete early august...still says you app is complete and ready to be reviewed...should i be expecting a hold?

I'm not sure they don't like the 'safety' school thing for being put on hold - I got an interview with a 3.9GPA / 33S...

Pretty much each admission's committee is a black box, and sometimes you just can't tell what they're looking for or rationalize why they do the things they do...so don't stress about it too much.

Drexel receives well over 10,000 apps and they interview 1,300. There's more to the decision process than GPA & MCAT. Every personal statement gets read, and the higher-ups in the admissions process at Drexel have said openly that it can make or break your chances of getting an interview. Also to be considered is that a lot of the process is arbitrary, who knows what little things may catch someones eye on one app but not on the next. The majority of applicants are going to have competitive stats, shadowing, research, and volunteer experience. Considering that so many people have those on their resume, I imagine it's quite a snooze to see over and over. Basically, I'm not so sure you're not getting an invite because they think you're using them as a "safety", though I wouldn't be surprised if there is some arbitrary cut-off in the head of some of the reviewers, but I highly doubt that a mid-30s score would be a cut-off. Ultimately, don't flatter yourself with thinking that they think you're too good. It could very well be that they think you actually aren't good enough.

[Oh, india45, I'm not necessarily replying to you specifically.]

haha perfect +1

complete here since August 8th, new MCAT score on August 30th. Really hoping for some good news from Drexel! I love this school!

+1

I have a friend with 2.9 GPA who has an interview at Drexel. His undergrad GPA is low but he has amazing ECs, a very good personal statement, and a publication in Science.

interview invite, drexel here i come!

OOS 3.75/31M

My experience in Philadelphia has been amazing. I had a very warm feeling about the city right when I got out of the airport, strangers were open and helped me locate my student host. Student host was very nice and gave me insight about the school. I met with several of the students and they are happy with the school and their choice. The team based learning (PIL) was very emphasized in my interview day and it is really interesting if I do matriculate into Drexel to see what that is like. I was not able to see the robotic patients because of my interview schedule but the facilities were nice. This was my first interview and I was a little nervous but I had a great conversation with the faculty member. I think I did well overall. Great cancer research opportunities for those who are interested in research.

I really had a great experience in the east coast so far! (from San Diego)

3.5s 3.6c 29N - interview invite Oct. 24. Thank you for pointing out that it isnt necessarily stats, but ECs, writing ability, experiences, and LORs that can make you a good candidate.

I was put on hold as well. Congrats to all of the interview invites!

Interviewed 9/21! Both interview sessions went well! Very hopeful.

Has anyone interviewed yet? I'm interviewing soon and I'm wondering what the prompts are like that they give you. I heard ethics, but I'm not sure.

on hold.

good luck to everyone who have been able to get an interview here. you all deserve it 🙂

Should I start to get worried? I was complete July 26th and I still have no decision on MyApplication.
