They changed mine FROM Interview Status Pending to Decision Pending. What do you think THAT means? Happen to anyone else?

The plot thickens! I thought we'd seen it all! 😛

it means they reviewed your file. a little vague but they do prioritize after giving you that status. some received invites, some (like me) have not. some may in the future, others will be rejected later.

So does that mean that you have to go "via" interview decision pending? Or do people go from decision pending --> interview invite straight?

Who knows? It seems like there is not much logic to the way they review applications. I submitted middle of July and am still Decision Pending.

did you guys have to keep checking to see if the status changed or did jefferson email you to tell you you got a status change?

How long does it take to receive a secondary? I was verified on 9/6 and I still haven't received one

I would call and figure out what's going on. I was verified on the 2nd and got my secondary on the 6th, but the 6th was the first business day after the 2nd, which explains the delay (I think so at least).

Just called and they said they will be sending them out today (in case anyone else is in my shoes).

Ok, this might sound dumb...
Where is status page? I can't find it.

Sign into website where you did your secondary app, at the top left corner there'll be "display application status". Once you select that, you can scroll down to "interview status". This is off the top of my head so it might be a bit vague, but I hope it helps

The problem is when I sign in, I have to choices to pick from: "Complete Medical College Secondary" and "Application Display Secondary Application Status". There is no "display application status". And none of them have "interview status" in their page.

Under "Display Secondary Application Status" there is an "Interview Status." Most likely it says "Decision Pending."

Yeah it should go something like:

Name:
SS#
Application year

Application Status:
AMCAS Application Received?
Jefferson Secondary Application Received?
Jefferson Secondary Application Fee Paid

Interview Status:

It's been around 3 weeks and I still haven't received a secondary. I left a message at the admissions office...not the greatest first impression of this school....may not complete it even if it comes.

You probably got rejected anyway.

arghhhh still in "decision pending". how long did it take for you guys to leave "decision pending" to "interview pending" ?

No it doesn't. I searched for a word interview... not there.
Ok. Just FYI. I called in the admission office. They told me that there are some students that do not have "interview status" on their account. And there is no specific reason for that. They are looking into it to fix it

You just quoted yourself.

Yeah quick interview invite at Pitt and rejected here with no automatic secondary....methinks that their admissions office is not on top of things.

Some schools just don't like certain things.

Good luck at the other schools.

I don't feel worthy to post in the same thread as you

PNP...I'm in the same boat since 8/1. Nothing there at all. I've asked them a couple times and they say I'm complete and under review, but didn't say anything about why it's not there. I just assumed it was a rejection, but there is always hope if its a tech error!

Interview!! Its funny that they send interview invites at midnight, hahah. Anyone else interviewing 10/26?

Yep! How many should we contact? I'm assuming everyone that's on there really wants to do it, so just a couple maybe?

I contacted one and she got back to me immediately. Since the list is relatively short, I'd just contact one at a time. Can't wait to visit philly!

"This is a summary of the Web application that was selected. This Web application is complete but has not yet been processed"

Does anyone else see this status when they log in. My application was complete a while ago but never got a complete email. All the things they require have dates on them though. Kind of confused. Called the admissions office and they said it meant it was complete but not under review yet.

Anyone had a similar experience here?

I've gotten different answers every time I've called despite the fact nothing has changed in my application online. They say it is complete and under review. Generally, the place people are looking for their application status is under Display Secondary Application Status above that. Most (not all) people have their status under the three Yes's from what I can tell. I don't know if the "Summary of the Web application..." text ever changes. Someone else would have to comment on that since mine didn't change.

yea. mine doesn't say anything there. I don't want to have wasted the money though applying here and the effort of having done it early to be reviewed at the end though.

Just to clarify...I don't have anything under the Yes's either. There are other folks in this situation, but not many on SDN. I honestly have no clue if it's a rejection or some sort of tech error.

Just called and they said it is complete and under review. This process is making me paranoid.

yes, mine has been like this since i submitted in july. I haven't called yet, but maybe I should

My mistake and I apologize for blasting the admissions office! They indeed sent a secondary but it was in my spam!

idk guys, the thing that's scaring me from completing is the over $200,000 debt most graduates here accumulate.

What is the actual deadline for this secondary? I received the email and did the online version but it does not state anywhere on any of the info when it is due by.

I am not looking for a response that says "do it asap", but rather an actual take and/or time frame.

thank you

I am also curious as to the stringency of the "return secondary app within two weeks." I have been so busy with research that I completely overlooked this. Does it really matter? I plan on submitting tonight but don't want to waste $80 if I've already screwed myself.

Thanks!

I wasn't really aware of the 2-week rule until I had accumulated a pile of secondaries and was browsing SDN threads and began seeing posts about completing secondaries in 2 weeks.

Someone should correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that this 2-week rule is more of a guideline to help prevent people from falling behind on completing secondaries, as opposed to a strict rule that schools use when making interview/rejection decisions?

Of course, if it explicitly states on the secondary to return it in 2 weeks, that is a different story...but a lot of schools seem to not specify a timeline and just say 'as early as possible' and I am hoping/I went with the idea that the 2 week rule is simply a guideline...most of mine were turned in between 1 and 3.5 weeks after receipt of the secondary, and I turned my Jefferson secondary in about 3 weeks after submitting it and received an interview.

Thank you very much for your response, snow88! If you got an interview after submitting your secondary 3 weeks after receiving it then I think I should be OK. Although, I received it Aug 16th...so it has been almost 6 weeks!! I might call the adcom office after I get off of work just to be sure. I'll post their response here.

By the way, congrats on your interview offer!! Good luck!

You are feigning disinterest in anticipation of bad news. We all know private med school is expensive. UPitt students graduate with comparable debt. If you are lucky enough to get an II (like me), then an acceptance, mull over the price tag.

I get what you're saying but there is expensive and then there is........expensive. That's what I feel though, good luck to you!

I just got off the horn with Admissions. The two week "deadline" for returning the secondary application is not a mandate. :woot: Rather, it is a strongly worded suggestion.

logged on today and my "check your status" link is gone...rejection??
