😱 This makes me nervous! Congrats, I haven't seen it happen this early after looking back at last years thread. Did she give any more detail, or just tell you that you were accepted and to expect the information?
 
she said a letter has been sent to my house and an email with more info will be sent out on mon - info about reserving my spot, paying the $100 etc. i seriously hope i heard her right... this seems too early.
 
Maybe they are trying something new out this year, or you're too awesome for them to make you wait until Dec 15..either way congrats!
 
Thanks and let's hope so. I will post once I have the email. Their website does say that first batch of acceptances come out on Dec 15 though...

It's not something they are likely going to mess up, but if its bugging you then why not call back?
 
For those of you who interviewed, what does your status say now? Mine says "Final decision pending"...

The original question was about the latest date people were considered for the Dec 15 acceptance date, not people accepted overall. Sorry if I offended you with my dumb reply...?

I think you made it pretty clear in your post that you meant the last interview date to be eligible for the Dec. 15 acceptance. Someone wasn't reading carefully...

well i'm embarrassed
this thread has been full of idiots saying stuff about last interview dates coming up or whatnot so i thought that was that

I believe you are referring to me as one of those idiots since I said, "Ohhh, getting down to the final interview days." However, NYU only interviews until January 31 and they leave open a two week window to schedule an interview. Someone said the scheduled an interview for January 17. Guess what? That means about 14 (+/- a fews days) of interview days are left to be scheduled a.k.a. the the final interview days. So explain to my idiot self how the last interview dates are not coming up?

you either get an interview or you don't so stop making people nervous

and if they have multiple options open for interviewees and someone decided to pick a later date, that amazing analysis isn't even valid. idiot.

This school is my top choice but no interview yet. Did any of you send a letter to admissions reiterating your interest, etc?

I think that there is a lot of us in this same situation. Just waiting around for an interview invite. If what is being posted on here is correct there are not many spots left so good luck to us all who are still waiting!!:xf::xf:
 
Gahhh! Got an interview invite!

I scheduled mine a bit later though because I wanted to travel to NY during Christmas season.
Anyone scheduled for 12/20? =D

I didn't schedule my flight to NYU very smart.. Interviewing Tuesday, 11/29 but flying into NYC Saturday, 11/26 (the weekend after Thanksgiving). I was supposed to stay with a friend that weekend but turns out he's not going to be home then. Anybody know an affordable place to stay in NYC? I feel like that's impossible but maybe you know better. I kind of want to try asking my future NYU host if she'll house me for the weekend but I don't want to be presumptuous.

EDIT: Does anybody have it in their heart to take in a poor pre-med kid for the weekend? Anybody have the Christmas spirit? 🙂

heyy congrats to everyone who has already received interview invites!! i have mine in a few weeks, and i was just wondering if you have any tips for me?? =D
 
Invite today. There are about two weeks of interview days left according to the calendar online. I was complete 10/27.

Are you sure its 2 weeks left or just that they only give you a span of 2 weeks from which to select your interview date? I remember the invite email saying they only give you a two week span to choose from.
 
I've been waiting to hear from NYU and a lot of other schools for so long....... when I've been waiting around for an interview for 2+ months, do you think it mean they haven't gotten to me yet, or that they passed me over without letting me know?
 
You might be right about the two week span to choose from....hmmm...in which case, I don't know. Sorry if I freaked anyone out.

Did you guys see the website for the student group that admissions tweeted? It's very impressive. Do most schools have programs like this? I haven't been paying attention to the clubs, tbh.

What group? I can't say that I follow twitter but you have sparked my curiosity.
 
Does anybody know If you are not invited to interview do they let you know you have been rejected??

And if so do they update it on your status page??
 
My application completed in mid July and still I've heard nothing. Can anyone weigh in on what this might mean?

What I figure is the case is that they saw our application and decided we are not an automatic interview or an automatic reject. They are probably waiting to get all the applications they are going to get and then compare us with the rest. So they are picking "the best of the rest" to offer the final interview spots. So we'll just have to patiently wait until the deadline has passed and for them to do another round of review of the rest of the applications before we got a yay or nay for interview. Who knows how long this process will take. I kinda wish the admissions office will just tell us if we actually have a chance so I can just move on with my life.

Hey mission, I think they might just pass you by, because they hold all applicants until the end (march). They do interviews until janurary so if no news by then, we know it's a no go.
 
Anybody mind sharing the types of questions they asked at the interview? This is my first one and I'm getting nervous. I'm heading to NYC for the 12/9 interview day.

Very, very typical questions. Tell me about yourself, what led you into medicine, what do you like to do in your spare time, why NYU. . . etc. Overall, an extremely relaxed interview 🙂
 
When you log into your secondary it says your status on the very top.
 
Hopefully an interview invite is still in the cards for those of us left

I've been complete since mid-July and sent an interest/update letter and I don't know what else to do...I feel like hope is lost but I am hoping it isn't!
 
Can anyone else give any insight on how their interview went and what they asked? This is my top choice and I really want to be prepared! Thanks
