When were you complete here? Anyone who recently got an II feel free to chime in. I was complete around 10/15 and am trying to get an estimate as to when I may hear back.

Complete 9/5
II 12/31

Anyone that interviewed on 12/9 that has heard anything yet? I loved the school and am praying to the heavens that I get in. I loved it there!!

I was complete 9/10, rejected today. Kind of a long shot, but still a little bit of a bummer. Oh well, got a Columbia II today to ease the pain!

Via email or mail? congrats on the Columbia II btw!

Thanks! It was via snail mail. I don't think they give final decisions via email

Were there any interview dates between 10/26 and 11/11?

Complete July 9. 🙁 Sob
My rejection letter probably got lost. I'm just trying not to think about it.

I was also complete in July! I'm guessing my rejection was misplaced somewhere along the journey to Canada.

I am with you. I submitted my application with all LORs in place back in early July, possibly the first day you could submit, but still no word. Last year's thread had people saying they never received a rejection or interview invite.

I would like to call, but I doubt they are too fond of applicants inquiring about their status.

Does anyone know if your online status changes when you are rejected?

I just received a rejection letter in the mail dated Jan 3, so it looks like they are on their way!

Looks like it's gonna be a fun weekend for all of us California residents. I predict a slew of SDN posts tomorrow.

OMG interview invite yesterday!!!!!!!!! HOLY COWWW????

Partyyyyy

Rejection letter finally found its way to me today! Good luck to everyone else 🙂

received the letter of death =(. Good luck to those still in the running and congrats to those who have been accepted by such a great school!

I woke up to an interview invite this morning - best way to wake up! I'm still in shock. I feel lucky, too, because it appears that they maybe running out of interview dates soon. I could only choose between feb. 24th and feb. 29th (it wouldn't let me look at March).

The toughest part of every evening is getting home after work and wondering if today is the day I get rejected. I think the mail rejections are the worst way to go. There's always the uncertainty of - did it get lost? Was I rejected two months ago? I know someone mentioned earlier that Stanford was "classy" to pay the 40 cents to reject you, but I find this brutal. Still waiting...

+1 my thoughts exactly. only thing worse than a rejection is being rejected and not knowing. ignorance isn't always bliss i guess. website says interviews are extended through the end of february so there might be a glimmer of hope. :xf:

arrogant much? his MDApps is perfectly clear.

I don't get it. I was commenting on the seeming unpredictability of which schools will invite you for an interview. I do believe that everybody who gets an interview truly deserves it - adcoms are not as dumb as some people think. And of course, I was also congratulating him on his interview.

nymphicus: "huyem, how'd you get an interview at stanford with a 31 mcat? i'm so confused as to how someone so inferior to me could get an interview"
whiskeywolf: "you're a jerk"
neuropsyche: "agreed"
leoger: "yeah, what they said"
nymphicus: "what, i just said congrats!! i totally think he deserves the interview"

Why would I think I'm better than him based on a test score? I didn't pay much attention to that previously, but now looking again, his gpa is higher than mine. Does that make him better than me? I wouldn't be so pretentious to assume either way.

Again, what I was curious/confused about was why some schools seem to bite and some don't. My experience this cycle has been similar. Last June, I would have expected a greater probability that school X would interview me and not school Y, but in many (most?) cases, that didn't pan out. That was all I was commenting on, a fellow applicant who's application experiences were similarly unpredictable.

Let's be real, those schools are not interested in "regular guys without amazing stats"... if they were, each of them would be all over me 😀

I attribute it to your rapier-sharp wit and your ability to out-titrate the competition.

Can anyone point out some bad things about Stanford? Any current students regret their decision to come here? This may or may not be a mechanism to ease myself towards the imminent rejection.

holla finally rejected pre-interview

the west coast and I were just never meant to be =(

Go easy guys... In a process so driven by numbers, it is sometimes hard to figure out how an applicant that just looks standard (or, in his own words, "regular guy without amazing stats") would get an invite, not only to one top school -- but to Hopkins, Stanford and Harvard plus more.

Obviously there is something outstanding about this individual, something that isn't noted blatantly in his mdapps. Perhaps he is overly modest or, hell, perhaps he doesn't even realize what is outstanding about himself.

Not knowing what that "thing" is and pondering the possibility that perhaps that "thing" really doesn't exist [and this individual really is just as "regular" as he claims] can certainly leave one confused as to how this process/game works.

...I imagine that is what was going through Nymphicus' mind.

Aww, thanks Frazier. 🙂

I hope my profile will give hope to people that it's not always about numbers. And, MDapps really only shows a person's numbers, not what life experiences they have or who they are as a person.
