2011 AACOMAS Launched!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
i wonder what is preventing someone like me from just not entering a spring course and then updating with the grades when they come out in july?
thats why verifications takes so long. They will catch it when it is compared to your transcript. Your transcript will have your registered classes on it as well as your completed classes. The registered ones just don't have a grade.
No way around this one. You don't want to risk them sending an alert for fraud to the schools you are applying to. No way!!!!!!!!!

Actually the only course on this transcript is a spring one. I've completed school for UG, I've taken a quarter of courses at a different school and this one will be my third. That said, I've already gotten my instructor to say she'll rush the final grades through and I'll pay whatever extra it costs to get it 1 day or 2 day mailed to AACOMAS so I should have it in by ~20th of June (hopefully) although I very well could get a waitlist call before then and not have to worry about all this :xf: lol

That is correct. What is worse is that they will not even BEGIN to verify your application until the transcript is in. I spoke with the instructor of my spring course and asked her about this and she told me she would rush grades through since many of us are applying for med school. She said she knows how it is an doesn't want us to have to wait. So my June 10th final should have grades ready to be sent out by June 13th according to her and hopefully the administration will be ready. I'll likely pay the 40 or 50 bucks to rush process and overnight it as well since it takes 3 days to send out and last year it took 1.5 weeks before AACOMAS received it from California.

Wow, I didn't know that. I will probably pay extra money to deliver it early as well. 🙂

I think last year was atypical, it does take minimum of 5 business days though. Something to be aware of.

They won't be "verified" but you have to remember not everyone is completed finished with all pre-reqs when they apply, so you will be fine if you put it in the "classes to be taken" category. Basically you just can't be done with your pre-reqs if you just leave it as a C-.

Also Cell bio only counts as a pre-req if you're applying to KCUMB I believe. (As long as you have enough Bio credits for other schools you're applying to).

I'm not sure about how the verification process can't go through with a C-, but I talked to WesternU's Katrina and she said having a C- is fine with their application, it just look kind of bad. Hopefully you can find some explanations for that.

Good Luck.... I will pray for you to come off of the wait list!!!!!!! 🙂

Anyone else bummed that the character limit is different from the AMCAS one? By a good amount, too - 800 characters.

I'm already gonna have to shave off a lot to make the AMCAS limit, now I'll have to shave off even more afterwards. Also kinda irks me that I'll have two different personal statements, I'm a little OCD and don't like there to be that difference between the applications. Oh well, what can ya do..

It already has been a year since I turned in my AACOMAS application. Wow.

I just want to say GOOD LUCK to you all class of 2015. I hope you all get into where you want to go (and make it to a physician you want to be). This application process can be frustrating because of endless waiting but you will get through it. Just stay positive and do not let anyone to tell you that you cannot achieve your dream. Hit the home-ryun everyone! 🙂

Good luck, and welcome to a very stressful year!! :luck:

(Yes, I meant year. The majority of your year will be eaten up by application and planning madness...)
