2011 ASDA UDM Pre-Dental Workshop

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Is this a good workshop for current college freshman. It seems to be geared towards older students, but I would like to get some hands on experience

Dental school admissions is competitive and expensive but more importantly dental school is difficult and rigorous. IMO, it is better to be involved in a profession if you are passionate it and enjoy it. This is a chance to start to learn if dentistry is for you. It wouldn't be a bad idea to consider it as an investment into your future career. What makes it so different from a lot of health care professions is the surgical aspect of dentistry. In addition to learning book material, you will be using your hands to drill minute details down to the tenth of a millimeter. This is an opportunity to use hand pieces on plastic teeth in a typodont at a dental school, the same as first year and second year students here at UDM. If you find that you love it, than it will definitely be great to attend even as a 1st year undergrad. You will be able to make connections with fellow undergraduate students, dental students, and even dental faculty. Also we'll be providing special deals for Crack DAT prep material and raffling free dental admissions test preparation materials.

If you find that you do not like dentistry, than you can than concentrate on your passions in undergraduate.
