How valid is this thing? I got a 77% on it which translates to 233, I am getting annihilated in Uworld though

Just out of curiosity, what do you call annihilated? And, how are you doing your questions (e.g. random, timed?).

From what I hear, Free 150 is a pretty good predictor.

I heard it's a decent predictor but it depends on when you take it... if you take it like a month before your exam of course it's going to be off, but a week before the exam might predict your score better.

I got an 84% which predicted a 247... which is exactly what my Kaplan predicted score is too... so here's hoping lol

I take the exam on June 18th, so about 5.5 weeks to go, I am getting in the low 50s in Uworld, random timed questions though, still haven't finished my first pass.

Well, good job on the Free 150 score 🙂 And, your UWorld score gives me hope! I'm not even going to have enough time to sneak in a diagnostic test before my Step 1 -- and at this point, it's so late that I cannot risk a demoralizing blow -- so, hopefully my decent random, timed average on UW will give me a decent score!

I feel that free 150 was too easy compared to Uworld, every disease had classical presentation or every tumor they asked about was the most common in that age group.

That may be the case (and it would assume so based on the difference in percent correct), but what should be important is how you're performing compared to others.

Keep it up. I'm sure you'll do well.

I have one more day to study and I only had enough time to do about 500 UW questions 0_0

Yeah, I thought it was either on the same difficulty or easier than UW, but traditionally UW is supposed to be a tougher qbank in general (lots of "distractor" answers, tests high yield stuff in a very roundabout way, etc)

that makes me feel so much better.. ive only been able to do 1 block of uworld a day and some days none bc i needed to go over the previous days block... sigh.. so i maybe will get through 50% of uworld if im lucky..

I would recommend at least doing 2 blocks a day if you're not sure you're going to complete UW by the end of your study period. It's a good resource to have and all, but I think the best load of benefit comes from completing the whole thing and learning from ALL of the topics.

anybody know if they repeat this 2010/2011 150 on the prometric practice exam?

I think I may take one so I don't want to spoil it. Good predictor + actual test site = greatest prediction ever

Yes. The Free 150 and the prometric practice exam have the same questions. It's in your best interest not to do them beforehand if you've signed up for it.

Just to confirm, is this "Free 150" you guys are talking about the one that has 143 questions? The last block has just 5 questions and those have videos?

i would love for it to not overpredict but i got 221 on both NBME 11 and 12 a week apart but in the middle of that week i got 88% (255) on the free 150.. even if it overpredicts by 20pts, i owuld be so happy....

I took the practice test at the Prometric site the other day and compared w/ the Free 150 and just after the first few questions, I saw that some were the same but some were not. Anyone that has gone through both know about how much of it is the same?

Does it crash anyone else's computer with a white screen everytime you try to load it?

It's weird, before I started studying for boards I was hit a 215 on the school administered NBME. I tried a hand at the free 150 today, and it predicted my score to be 235? (I got like a 80% on it)

NBME 6 - 224
NBME 12 - 235
UWSA 2 - 256
NBME 7 - 233
NBME 11 - 240

Today - Prometric Administered Practice (Free 150) - 87% - 253 (Medfriends)

From previous posts - it seems like the scores are inflated on the Free 150, but perhaps not as much as the UWSA scores. When I began studying I was shooting for 225 - I think I'll end up in the 230's - but I'm shooting for 250. I guess it helps me to stay motivated 👍
