Thanks! The interview was super relaxed and I love the school. I hope I hear something from them soon... I really wanted to go to this school!

When did you interview and when did you hear back from them? I was just wondering on the turn around time, lol. And even though you're on the waiting list, do you know your position? Because I heard a lot of ppl get accepted off the waiting list. 🙂

Have you heard back from them? I remember them saying their turn around is about 3-4weeks, depending on when their adcom meets.

No idea where I am on the waiting list, I should probably figure that out soon🙂

Man, I interviewed 12/19 and I still haven't heard back. This doesn't feel good. Now I'm scared...I really hope they do not reject me off the bat...I really want to go to NEOMED...lol...the waiting is nerve-wrecking...

Do decisions come via email or mail?

It has been over 3-4wk for me. (2month in 2wk). Does that mean they are on edge with me on whether to reject, accept, or wait list. Ah, it so nerve wrecking. I dont even know if them taking longer to decide on my outcome is good or bad. I just want to know and praying for an acceptance because I want to go so badly, lol. Are they waiting until after the last interview 2/5, and then giving everyone an answer on their acceptance? And does anyone know whether it's by email or mail? Because I have been checking both every day....more often with my email bc it's so easy to check it.

Lol, wow. Just read my post and I sound like a rambling crazy person. I'm just one of the crazy premeds, lol.

This process makes everyone crazy.

My waitlist notification came via mail.

I called them a couple minutes ago, said that letters should be sent out by the end of next week. It will be snail mail, not email.

So I'm assuming I will know by February 25th?

Oh, THANKS SO MUCH! I should have just called instead of twiddling my thumbs as I wait for a decision. Now, I'm nervous knowing we will be getting an answer in approx 2wks...2wks, I'll know my future for the next 4 years...lol, nervous.:scared: I hope you get good news when your letter arrives as well :xf:😀

I submitted a letter of interest last week by email. No response but I'm assuming they just added it to my file.

Are you sure their last interview date is 2/5?
That is what it said when I scheduled and confirmed my interview date. I vaguely remember hearing that on interview day too but someone else can verify if they remember.

I wouldn't worry just yet. I had interviewed in January and didn't hear back till at least the middle of March.

I was actually called by someone in the Office of Student Affairs to tell me they were accepting me, and then they sent the letter of acceptance/information. That was 4 years ago so I'm not sure if they still do that.

8 weeks is going to be a long wait to hear back if that's true (I in January and A in March)

*clarification those were hypothetical dates. I interviewed in early February

Well, like I said, they will be sending out letters by the end of this week.

People were saying at my interview that NEOMED meets once a month to discuss interviewees and determine their status.

Are letters sent to the permanent or temporary address?

has anyone gotten a verification on whether they are making calls to those accepted this year?

Yea but didn't they say that they meet at the end of the month? Are you sure they'll be sent this week?

Did anyone get a letter today? I got a package receipt notification but didn't know if it was from here.

Congrats! Anyone else get a call?

Nope. No call or letter. I interviewed 12/19...gosh, I'm doomed. I thought my interview went well, but seeing someone who interviewed 2/5 get accepted means I am probably rejected...

Same. I interviewed 1/31. I thought mine went well also. Looks like we're heading for the waitlist. I've heard they go deep into it every year though 👍

Damn, *sigh* I was really hoping to relax after I receive an acceptance somewhere...now I guess this tension or nervousness will go into the summer...bummer.

Interviewed 2/5 as well and haven't heard anything.

Ah, thanks for letting me know. i guess the admission ppl must have really loved the 2/5 person to accept him/her already.

I wonder if the ppl who interviewed with me at 12/19 heard anything yet? Yo ho, anyone from 12/19, lol.

Yeah I interviewed 2/5 as well. I am assuming that no call means wait list or rejection in the mail. Hopefully our position on the wait list will be in the letter? Maybe that is why some have not heard yet. They wanted to finish interviews to put the wait list together?

Could be. It will be interesting to see if anymore phone calls go out today 😕

Ok this is weird, I just got an acceptance phone call not 2 seconds after I posted this. They are still making phone calls today! Good luck everyone!

are you direct entry I assume?

Congrats guys and gals! Trying to stay positive but haven't heard anything yet. Has anyone that didn't interview 2/5 get accepted recently?

I'm a 4th year student at NEOMED... my class is actually about 50-50 between "Direct Entries" and BS/MD students (Direct Entries are those of us that did the traditional 4 years of undergrad before applying). I'm not sure what the exact reason for that was, but typically they do lean more towards BS/MD. It varies from year to year. I'm not sure what the ratio is for the three classes below me.

For those who haven't heard anything yet, I wouldn't worry. I think I interviewed at the end of January and didn't hear back until the middle of March.

What time do you have class from? Is it 8-12?

Got my letter today. Waitlisted, so there's still a chance!

Interviewed 1/28. Letters sent out yesterday.

Also, if a current M3/M4 somehow sees this, how do you feel about the way they set up clinical rotations? Is it organized, do you find them to be valuable, and do you feel that you have had enough freedom to explore what you are interested in?

Yes, I'm Tier I.

What are tiers by the way? How high up you are?

Yes. I believe they make it through at least tier one every year..I would say your chances are VERY good. My letter didn't come today, will probably be here Monday.

Yup. I assume I got it so early because I live just 20 minutes away from the school. Most people should get it sometime next week.

Oh, I got my letter today. It said my position is within the top tier of the three tiers. Is that the tier one your referring to? Fingers crossed I get in, lol.

The letter also stated they don't expect major movements until May, but I really hope they let some ppl in before May bc I want to walk with pure happiness; otherwise, I would be a bit worrisome of my future- even during commencement, lol.

are they done giving out IIs? :scared:

Typically. Sometimes they would run to 1:00 pm. Afternoons would be reserved for dissection lab, microbiology labs, physical diagnosis labs, and other things like that. Many would be free from what I can remember. I hardly went to class, though. I would just stream the videos in the afternoon after they posted them and watch them in 1.5x speed. That method worked out pretty well for me.

There is not a whole lot of freedom to explore specialties outside of the six core rotations, which include IM, peds, surg, psych, ob/gyn, and family medicine. You are typically able to explore one or two sub-specialties within these rotations, such as cardiology during IM, ortho during surgery, etc. They are constantly changing the way they set up third and fourth year, but for my class we had the chance to do a two-week "exploratory" in the middle of M3 year. I did radiology since I didn't get to do it the rest of the year. You can do elective rotations in anything starting in August of M4 year, but that's too late if you are still unsure of what you want to go into, since applications go out first thing in September.

I think they changed the way they do exploratories but I think you will still get that chance. It can be helpful if you are considering something you won't get to see during your six core rotations. Specialties you probably wouldn't see otherwise would be things like ENT, Ophtho, Rads, Rad Onc, EM, and Derm. The best advice I could give if you are leaning towards one or more specialties early on would be to shadow some physicians in that field. It really isn't hard to find people to shadow since NEOMED has a pretty big presence around NE Ohio.

Yup, that's the one!

I'm hoping we get results before May, preferably in the next two weeks! Moved my backpacking trip from April-June to March-April. If they accept me I get an extra two months, and can move my trip to the summer and not in the middle of Winter-Spring transition.

Whoa, backpacking!? That sounds amazing! Where are you going? Lol, I'm just be continuing my research and earning whatever money I can before med school (hopefully), lol.

And you really think they will contact ppl in the next 2wk? I know my friend declined the NEOMED offer, so another spot, yay, lol. Does anyone know when they would know the number for bs/md candidates, then they will have a number of available direct md seats. Bc I definitely know large movement of the lost will offer in may bc ppl need to accept or decline. However, just curious if there is any large movement before that.

Nice! lol. It seems like everyone is in Tier 1 or maybe just SDN people are in Tier 1, lol. I wonder how many people are in each Tier...

Breaking the trend, found out I was in tier 3.
