Hey guys,

I'm trying to apply for the Fall 2013 cycle. I did a quick search and found this thread for last year's proofreaders. Couldn't find anything for this year. I guess owlegrad didn't want to spearhead this year haha.

But in any case, I was wondering if there were any volunteer proofreaders for this year's cycle and if I could pm you my personal statement. I'm looking for any kind of style tips, what you think adcoms would want to hear more about. My stats aren't that great. I have a BS with a gpa of about 2.7-2.8 and something like a 2.6 in sciences. I spent the past 4 years in a pharmacy, 3 at cvs, 1 in a hospital.

Letters of Rec:
- the director of my hospital pharmacy
- clinical pharmacy supervisor
- director of volunteer services at brigham and women's hospital
- and i'm trying to secure my last one from a professor (getting kind of worried because we've exchanged emails. I'm thinking about driving down to the university to see her in person.)

Just to give you guys some background info on me. If there are any proofreaders out there looking to satiate their proofreading itch, please pm me and I'll pm you back my statement.

Thanks in advance!

I was wondering the same. About the proofreading.

Is it time for the next one already?

I usually post a new one when I start seeing posts like these come up. I can do that now if it is time. 🙂

I thought there would be more of a break between application seasons though.

people underestimate the search function.

If you took time to browse the threads. On the very top of the Pre-pharmacy page, a new thread has already been started by Owlegrad http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=954585

It also includes the names of proofreaders. One of them was nice enough to offer his time to give me some constructive criticism.

Ah, no, I just added that. I had taken down the one you used because I thought we were in that time of the year where people don't need proofreaders.

EDIT: I actually need active proofreaders if anyone is interested.

Was it even necessary to be an ******* about it?

Wow, really? lol I wasn't being rude about it. And the internet is for people who can tolerate a little crude humor.

Also my first sentence was not directed at anyone in particular, just stating a fact. many people don't use the search function. And yes, my post was incorrect as Owlegrad pointed out.

:welcome: to the internet

"If you took time to browse the threads."

You were under the presumption that I hadn't. In any case, we're not here for petty arguments.

Are there no proofreaders for this cycle?? Or have they just not come out of hibernation?

I think part of the problem (keep in mind I only just put the thread up) is that proofreaders tend to be pharmacy students and most of us are probably busy with classes and such. I hope people step up to volunteer soon...

Hey! I am interested in helping again and will put my name on the list.
