2013-2014 Albert Einstein Application Thread

If we have a letter packet being sent, do we need to list the non-science faculty in the additional writer section? My packet has 2 science + 3 non-science letters.

I wouldn't because then the school would be expecting to receive separate letters from those people. I have a letter packet and my advisor told me to just list the packet, if that helps.

Anyone know how to check status online? When i log in, I can't find a status page

i don't think we can check status online. i think they'll email us about it but i could be wrong.

Yes, they do send you an email to let you know your application is complete and under review.

Hello all, are there any current Albert Einstein students present on the thread that could help? I just was selected for an interview and any additional help or information on what to expect during that day, some things you enjoy about the school, etc. would be fantastic! If you could PM me that would be amazing, but a post here would be fine as well. Thanks in advance!

Good luck to all of you applicants!

Do you mind sharing your stats and when you were complete?

This may help you out a little: http://studentdoctor.net/schools/school/aecom/survey/26

Please share!

I would love to know some info about Albert Einstein as well! Anyone know how many are accepted post-interview? Thank you!

Would anyone mind posting the MSAR data for number of interviews and acceptances? My subscription has expired.

OOS: 97 matriculants out of 921 interviewed applicants
IS: 79 matriculants out of 436 interviewed applicants

Congratz on the II btw!

Thank you! I actually saw on last year's thread where the previous year they interviewed ~1100 and gave out ~400 acceptances, so I guess it may take them a while to fill the class.

This might be a dumb question, but I'm not sure if this varies by school or not- if your application is complete the same day as someone else who got an interview and you haven't received an invite, is that a good hint at a silent rejection? (I'm still waiting to be complete at AE but I was just asking on this thread since it seems like IIs are already being handed out)
Thanks for any advice anyone can send my way. Good luck to all those applying!

I don't think it's a dumb question, I was wondering the same thing. I think it's more likely that they don't send all their II's out at once, and just because you didn't get one on the first round of II's doesn't mean you won't get one in the future.

idk if this has been discussed before, but what is the area like around AE in the bronx?

I'm interested in this as well. How easily accessible is it from Manhattan?

medium subway ride

The only part of bronx i know is super nice is Riverdale, which is on the other side of the burrough

Those with II, would you mind posting stats and complete date? Thanks!

Like an hour subway ride into Manhattan (depending how far you want to go)

Not the best but not the worst area, though this might be relative if you're not from New York. I know some clinical sites (Montefiore Medical Center for example) are in very bad areas.

That makes total and complete sense. Here's hoping that's how it actually is!!

I have no way of knowing this for sure, but I wouldn't read too much into not receiving an II yet, even if people who were marked complete on the same day as you already received IIs. I think it depends on how long your reviewer takes to make a decision about your application.

Yeah there are so many variables. We should all just relax and enjoy this calm before the storm of interviews.

Does anyone know if there is anywhere on the secondary to list alumni or hospital affiliations?

Yes -- Einstein has the following yes/no questions:
Parent Einstein Grad?
Parent Einstein Faculty?
Sibling Attending Einstein?
I have worked with a member of the Einstein faculty as a research assistant/volunteer/summer student, etc.

Look at earlier posts on this page 🙂

Do I really have to submit my entire school list from last years application? I applied super top heavy and I don't want them to think I am elitist lol

You could explain it. Bad advice perhaps?

Forgive the stupid question, but: for the "have you ever transferred from one college to another during your undergraduate years" question--they don't mean if you transferred from a junior college to a 4 year institution, right?

I believe that would still count. Junior college is still college and you did transfer and have two transcripts. So mention it!

My apologies for the late response. I received my II on 7/29; was complete 7/16; stats: 3.8/3.8/32

Good luck and congrats to all others who received II's!

Wish we could interview the weekend. Going to have to start asking for days off from my new workplace =[

II here on 7/1. Definitely very excited here - Einstein is one of those schools that I personally hold in much higher regard than its ranking (from what I've read, seems like a good fit for me). LM ~ 69-72, marked complete on 7/18.

Also, it's probably not easy to know this, but when schools accept about 1/3 of interviewees, does anyone know if that ratio tends to be higher/lower/same for early interview dates in a cycle relative to later ones?
