Do they send you an email?

Ah my hopes are starting to die 🙁

Super excited to interview here in a couple of weeks. I heard so much good things about this school, the staff, the students.. etc. and can't wait to see it for myself! I will be coming from NYC the morning of my interview, anyone have any travel tips? Subway or the Metro bus? (I'm not a New Yorker)

If you're looking to use public transportation you'll need to take the subway to the bus. The 2/3 or 4/5 are express trains you can take up into the Bronx then transfer to a bus. Google maps has A+ directions and it's what I use every time I don't know exactly where I'm going subway-wise. It's hard to give you more specific directions since I don't know where you're coming from and NYC is a huge city with lots of different subway lines.

TY! I will be coming from near NYU, staying with a friend to save some $$. It seems like subway to the Bronx then bus or the express metro bus 10 from Manhattan to AECOM ?

Yep, that's your best bet from my experience a couple weeks ago. Subway into the Bronx then a local bus from there is slightly cheaper assuming it's just you, but the 10 from Manhattan is easier. 👍

Yeah, the subway to the local bus is $2.50 with a free transfer to the bus, the express bus is $6.00.

Whoa, I had no idea that I wasn't complete here until I got the email this morning!

so I did get an email saying that my app is now complete but when I log on to the application page it doesn't say that my application is complete. It just shows the app and at the bottom, it shows the submitted date.
Is this what everyone has?

Yes. Once you submit your secondary, the application web site is of no use anymore. You will receive all the other communication - application completion, II etc - by email.

thanks! that's one status that I don't have to check on everyday.

Can a current med student (any year) comment on his/her experience at Einstein? What are classes like and how do you like the curriculum? Safety doesn't seem like an issue, but are you finding it easy to travel between the different hospitals? What do you love about the school, and, conversely, what bothers you about it?

Many thanks in advance.

+1... would love to hear this as well!

Hi guys!
For those of you that received interview: how did the process look like? Did the school give you a selection of dates available to chose from or did you have to email them your availability?

Can anyone recent who got an II say what month they are scheduling interview for?

Thank you! It's odd.. I was given a link to the website which gives me instructions as to how to proceed. The site tells me to email admissions with my availability. Did anyone else get the same procedure? If so, how long did it take you to hear from the admissions office with a confirmation of a date?

I got the same thing, nothing where I could select my dates. Still haven't heard back after ~9 days.

I think the site says that we should get interview confirmation within one week. Did you consider calling them about it?

Has anyone else gotten this option and actually got an interview scheduled?

I was complete at Einstein on 8/28. Seeing as how interview dates are vanishing at such a high rate, is it safe to assume I've been passed over?

I'm a MS1 at Einstein and I'm happy here. My classmates are awesome. The faculty is super supportive. There are tons of amazing opportunities. The curriculum is traditional, but P/F is a huge plus. I'd pick this place again in a heartbeat. What bothers me? I guess traveling between the affiliates could be a hassle, but I haven't had to deal with that yet. The school provides car service, though, so it's probably not a huge deal. I've only been here 2 months, so maybe I'll have more negative things after more time has passed.

Difficulty of Canadians getting accepted?

When I got my interview, I emailed them with a list of possible dates and they sent me back a scheduled interview confirmation the same day. I didn't do anything through the website. Interviewing 11/5. Complete 7/22.

Anybody interviewing on the 14th of Jan? I'm going to be flying in from out of state, first time in NY, so anyone has travel tips to get from LaGuardia/JFK to AECOM? Which airport would be easier to travel from given public transportation routes? Just checked cab fares, and :'( I Google Mapped it, but if anyone from around there could help out, that would be great!

It's not really "convenient" to get to AE from either airport but LaGuardia is probably easiest and cheapest. There's a bus that'll pick you up right outside the airport that will take you to the 125th street stop on the 4/5. You can hop on there and then take a bus to AE once you get to the Bronx. JFK will take longer, involve more transfers and you'll have to deal with the $5 AirTrain, which is a hassle. Just be warned that the subway/bus system can be pretty confusing if you haven't taken it before (it gets easier) and you'll want to leave yourself plenty of time. Good luck!

so excited about this school--wish we'd hear back before January 🙁

Hey everyone,

So I'll in be NYC in early December... any tips on how to dress?

I'm from California. I get cold when it's lower than 65 F outside.

For my interview, I'm thinking about wearing a long coat with a scarf over my suit with gloves. If it's super wet outside, I'll probably bring my dress shoes + socks in a tote and wear boots instead.

My current pea coat sits a little above the knees, do I need something longer?

Thanks~

It sounds like that coat is the perfect length. If it's professional looking I think you should be able to wear that on your tour without any problem. Id wear boots you'd be comfortable both walking outside and sitting for an interview. My interview was in a medical building off campus and required a lot of walking outside and the distance almost made me late, so I didn't really have time to changes shoes without being seen by the front desk/patients in the waiting room. If you're wearing a pant suit just wear some nice boots underneath, if you're wearing a skirt maybe find ankle boots that look professional. I'd even wear riding boots, but for some reason they seem less formal-professional and more business-casual.

That should be good. This winter should have a mild start according to what I've read. Definitely have a scarf and gloves, as the wind will be killer. All the tall buildings can create some nasty wind tunnels .

Do you happen to have a heavier coat? It might be useful depending on just how cold it gets.

Hey fellow Einstein applicants--

Sorry if this has already been answered (I couldn't find anything) ... but does AE silent-reject? I've been complete for well over 3 months now without a peep. I'm just wondering whether or not I should write this off as a loss or keep hoping for an interview... 😳

Thanks!

I'm on the same boat. Thinking we've been passed over 🙁. I wish there was a portal or something so we can send updates. Are they responsive to update letter?

Not sure but I know you can send update letters to their main admissions email. Might as well give it a try!

I'd be interested in the answer to this question as well. Silence since mid July.

I don't, but I figured I could layer a bit more if need be. My girlfriend's looking for winter coats for us for the trip anyways (there's a lot of thrift stores in San Diego! ) so maybe a decent backup could turn up.

The coat is from Kenneth Cole; I think it looks pretty professional.

Thanks for the advice! I'm a dude, so I think the suit and boots could be an option.

hahahahha sorry dude. something about changing into shoes out of outdoor shoes made me think of the heels vs. flats conundrum. Carry on, sir
