Did UCSD actually send out rejections? I got an email saying all their invites have been sent out and everyone accepted the offer, but it didn't sound like a flat out rejection.

Now, is there some kind of consensus as to where you stand if programs have supposedly sent out rejections to some group of people, but have not sent you either a rejection or an interview?

Presumably some kind of waitlist situation where if people cancel interviews then they might invite you?

Has UNC sent out actual rejections beyond their "all invites are out, we have a short wait list and will contact if necessary" email?

I got that email from UNC Chapel Hill, not UNC. Never got anything at all from UNC. What about you?

Sorry 🙁 UNC Chapel Hill was not a rejection, it mention the short wait list but since I have been getting lots of rejections I just treated it like one

Is there still time to expect interviews from places above that have not sent out rejections to everyone? Its weird cuz when you call these programs they say "we have sent out interviews" and that "there is no waitlist". But then they have sent out rejections to some people but not to others.
 
Also, is there anyone with only 3 invites as of now? Got 2 of my invites after November 5. I am an IMG applicant by the way, so it is probably a different ball game.
 
and the dumbest rejection letter of the year goes to....(opens)..... Vandy! For attaching it in an email and also attaching dumb pictures and putting "go vandy" at the end of the email...
 
Agree with DOCnAbox. The subject reads "Ophthalmology application update", and there are these weird pictures with a word document for rejection attached!
 
Adding Kansas...They never blinded the recipients on the E-Mail, so you get to see all your peers who were rejected, too lol. wtf.

Does anyone have any advice regarding approaching cancellations?

i.e. should we be calling program coordinators cold to see if there are any new interview spots available or would that cause more of an annoyance than an advantage?
