Yeah I got it as well, and was fine with the subject heading (I didn't find it rude). I already assumed it was coming given that they sent invites out a little while ago... and it's better than one I received which had no subject heading at all. I like when they indicate what's in the email in the subject heading so I can immediately react (i.e., drop what I'm doing to reply and confirm an interview date or just go on about my day --- though perhaps "regrets" would be better). And I agree with buzzworm re: reading it sooner than having to read half the email until they finally tell you that they won't be inviting you. It's like, let me down quickly -- not make me read this long explanation of how you got soooo many applications etc etc etc. lol ^_^
 
Hi everyone,

I haven't received any notifications yet but i've seen some of my sites send out invites/rejections on the thread. I'm starting to somewhat panic that i didn't do the application right. I received the confirmation email after i submitted every application that says "Congratulations! You have successfully submitted your AAPI Online application, along with all designated attachments, to the following site/sites...." and see under my application that they are completed. What should i be thinking?

I would say to you that a lot of people have not heard. You can always go check your application again and make sure you have the right email address. I, too, see several sites listed but have not heard.

Hopen, which date did CAMH give you? They assigned me Jan 22 but it might not be a good day for me so I might email to reschedule. Wondering if there are alternatives.

Edit: Nevermind, I see that you wrote the interview is for the 12th.

Pretty sure I got that one too. At least it was headlined enough so we didn't have to waste our time reading the email.

I also haven't heard anything either way. But looks like I couldn't go to the interview anyway based on the dates posted here as I am interviewing at two of my top choices on those dates (and the Indy VA doesn't happen to be in my top 5). But it would be nice to be asked...... 😉
 
I'm not sure if this is better served on the interview thread (so let me know if I should move it)…anyone have any advice on interviewing at (peds psych) hospitals? I'm obviously going over the common questions but I'm wondering if they ask you to look at vignettes, assessment examples, etc. I'm worried that I won't have adequately prepared if I'm asked to analyze a case example! :nailbiting:
 
I know a couple other people have been waiting on UNC's Women's Mental Health track, so just wanted to post this:

-Site name: University of North Carolina SOM
-Date notified: 12/4 (at like 11pm!)
-Invite or rejection: Invite
-Track (please specify even for general tracks): The email didn't specify a track, but I applied for women's mental health
-How notified (mass email, personal email, phone): personal email
-Interview dates offered: they offered me 1/14 but said it might be possible to change to 1/13, 1/22, or 1/23 (which I'm trying to do)

I have an interview coming up at Spring Grove as well and was wondering the same. I feel like projective tests won't be something to worry about in terms of the "testing vignette" they are going to give us. Other than that...not sure

I wonder if this means Beh Med invites are also out? I listed two tracks, beh med first, then women's health.. ugh this process is so draining!

It's interesting to me that sites are sending invites and including mid-December dates still. I guess I naively thought if they waited till now to ask us, the interviews would be in January only. Now I don't even know what to think about my calendar haha.
 
Canadian applicants: How are you dealing with all of the invites which are happening on the same day? Scheduling phone interviews? Seems like the week of the 19-23 is the favourite of programs.

I am applying to both Canadian and American sites. The December 5th deadline doesn't apply to all sites, and I got an invite about two weeks ago. I personally prefer it all at once; it beats the hell out of being 99% sure that I have been rejected as some of my sites have sent out invites two weeks ago but I haven't heard from them.
 
Also, interview at University of Manitoba College Counseling Center (mass email), no track, dates January 19th-30th.
Rejection at Oklahoma Health Consortium, mass email, all tracks.

I'm finding it quite difficult to schedule them all as well -- especially when you have to submit a number of date preferences and don't get confirmation immediately. Very challenging indeed!

-How notified (mass email, personal email, phone): Mass email personalized only by addressing it to me.
-Interview dates offered: On-site, phone, and Skype interviews offered. Interviews have to be scheduled online. Interviews will be conducted from January 5th to January 9th.

Yeah, sorry, what I meant was the overlapping interview dates. They all seem to be Jan 19-23. I am happy that they are notifying all on one day. Makes things much easier (in theory, anyways).

Most of my sites are scheduled in mid January, Canadian and American. If you get them all at once, you can prioritize and put your top sites in first, at least in theory.
