2014-2015 Applicant stats thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Because high school stuff is nothing like university. University ECs show time management, maturity and responsibility. High school ECs you're just an extra hand.
Hate to bring this back up but I have a sincere question. During high school I was taking about 10-15 credits at a local university while volunteering in the ER at a hospital. I don't think that the volunteering was somehow less relevant because I was in high school at the time (I'm doing the same volunteering now as I was then). Should I include volunteering that I did in high school on my application?

absolutely

What in the world is going on?

I've seen 4 people this month with a 36+ MCAT but low to average GPA saying they are going to apply DO.

They're the ones that are going to get into a DO school by October and then end up clearly withdrawing to go MD

For those that care, I added a column for grad GPA.

I believe it. I saw it happen many time last cycle.

October: I just want to get in anywhere. I don't care if it's DO or MD. I saw a physician perform OMM and I really think I actually like the hollistic approach!

January: MD is just a better fit for me and my family. PEACE!

More space for me~

why would this surprise you? more and more well qualified people apply to DO schools each year.
37 MCAT, why are you applying DO?! That is MD level! You Canadians are a weird people with your igloos..
For MD, 3.4/37 is not a shoo-in even for a US applicant, let alone a Canadian.

Bump for more people to add themselves to the spreadsheet.

Added to list. This will be interesting to track throughout the cycle. I'm also applying to TX MD programs, but don't feel like I'm a competitive candidate in the least (poor GPAs). As a Texas resident, though, I can't imagine turning down an in-state acceptance. Thankfully, there are some really exciting programs that I'm feeling hopeful about (namely ATSU-SOMA). Best of luck to everyone, and thanks to whoever put this together.

It has been about a month, just gonna give this a bump so people can keep uploading some stats on here. Keep up the great work everyone. Hopefully by the end of the cycle we will have a great source of information for future applicants.

Hey just bumping this now that some people are starting to get some more news from the schools. Again just trying to help out next year's applicants get a gauge on their chances.

***Introduced several new columns devoted to the specifics of how many schools you applied to and how that relates to how many schools you were accepted to.

Thanks again everyone for helping.

This is a really cool resource. Surprised I haven't seen it before.

Added my stats on there just now.

Updated my stats! This would have been so helpful for me last year when I was getting ready to apply. Hope more people add their stats to help out the class of 2020!

updated with my 11/7 MCAT retake.

currently sitting at 10/10/10, 3.7 cGPA, 3.6 sGPA

bump for others to see this

Did someone delete a bunch of them? I went to edit mine, and it's gone. I noticed there are plenty of missing numbers on the left, seeming to indicate rows which have been deleted.

you all should just make MDapps profiles...

 Why SD? Doesn't seem too useful. Text needs to be removed from most cells or it won't get calculated. All in all a good idea but not too beneficial at the moment.
