II #2 a couple days ago. Yay!! Now if you'll all excuse me, I have to get back to checking my e-mail compulsively...

A IRL friend and I think the II flood gates will open up shortly after oct. 15 though.

I have outlook rules set up so my phone beeps when i get mails from a certain address, neurosis to a whole new level! 😛

Looks like I'm stagnating at 14, haven't had an ii in about a week and a half. I've about ten schools i haven't heard from yet, but they're all competitive and it'll be a while if at all. Good news is acceptances come out in five days, two of which are weekend days, which go by faster. How are you all doing? Sn you catch up yet?

I would hardly call 14 interview invited "stagnating" lol

Again, way to make me feel like a douche.

Imagine the response if I said that in the pre allo forum! Triage would be all over my ass!

I think you should wait until you collect a bunch of acceptances and then post in pre-allo than you are not dropping any of them until 5/15. 😛

Snagged my first ii at LECOM Seton Hill on 12/06.

I'm 33, married, with one son (19 mo) and another one coming in late December/early January.

Started college at 18; flunked out at 21 with a 0.77 sGPA and 1.5 cGPA. Finished a BA at 26 and immediately went back and started an informal post-bacc that turned into a second bachelor's and a master's degree, in Ecology and Molecular Biology, respectively. Graduated with a 3.54 sGPA and a 33 (9PS/10VR/14BS) MCAT.

Felt like I applied late; didn't submit until August. Just snagged my first interview invite for LECOM-SH.

Just waiting to hear back from the 28 other schools.

Dude that's amazing!! Good luck with your interview!

Sounds like a neurotically good idea. I may have to emulate you.

I know how you feel. I'm stagnating at 1! 😛

Me too!! Gratz to Sisko, though - an exemplary performance thus far!👍

Great GPA improvement and awesome BS score! Schools will definitely take note of these. Congrats on your first II, and I'm sure there are more to come!

Thanks for the misplaced confidence- half of me is kind of worried I'm going to be one of those people who post frantically in pre-allo: "14 interviews, X rejects and 14-X wait lists, what do I do??"

Good luck to everyone tomorrow 🙂

Second interview, I felt, went really well. I could definitely see myself attending the school. Next interview is on Saturday, but I waited too long to buy my flight because of the new job schedule. Now I'm going to drive 8hrs each way to save a significant chunk of money. Boo.

And goooooood luck tomorrow to my friends that have already interviewed!

Just listen to the other half then. 😉

Why oct 15?

It's just pure speculation, but it goes like this..

In a twisted form of trickle down accept-o-nomics, the same top 50 or so schools are all chasing the same top 100ish candidates. Once the first wave of accepts go out, those top 100 will declare which schools they want by declining or withdrawing from later choices, which would cause schools to look further down on their list. The turnover from all the withdrawals will induce schools that care a lot about protecting their yield to have more information on who to offer invites to. This process repeats as it trickles through the tiers of stats. NOTE: This is completely non-scientific and sounds much better when you're having a few beers. 😛

Also, oct 15 is the first day AMCAS allows people to be notified of acceptances.

Just got waitlisted by Buffalo. It's what I was expecting, but it's still disappointing. It would have been nice to have an acceptance in my pocket.
Good luck to everyone still waiting on their 10/15 decisions.

Do Something, I understand your disappointment: an acceptance would certainly make you feel more comfortable. But you should get some better news in the upcoming days! 🙂
And, in the worst case scenario, there are ways to nudge a waitlist into an acceptance.
Good luck!

Thank you, Amygdarya! And thanks for being such a positive voice on here. 🙂

👍 I like it. Bravo for your reasoning. Also, it makes me feel more comfortable about only having one ii so far.

Accepted! I'm going to be an MD!

Sorry something, took your spot :/

You already got an acceptance????

Congrats!!

Congrats man! Where? lol

Somewhere East of USA? It's not 10/15 anywhere in the 50 states yet. 😀

Congratulations, Captain!! Must feel great to have that part behind you!👍👍👍

Sadly, nobody declines an acceptance until May 15th (at the earliest). We can't even see where they are holding multiple acceptances until mid March...

thanks guys. I can officially call myself a pre-med, since I got in. **** just got real though- this is happening!!

Congratulations cap'n. Now the real work (and fun) begins ;-)

The only school I interviewed at earlier to get acceptances this week notifies tomorrow....eeek!

+1 Only one school of the ones I've been interviewing at starts notifying tomorrow* (fingers crossed :scared:), the rest start notifying from mid-November to mid-March.
* - and I wonder if it's the school you meant 🙂

Congrats Captain Sisko! You're gathering quite a harvest of acceptances 👍

II #2 at LSU-NOLA, dancing around my cubicle!

Waitlisted at Jefferson, but...

ACCEPTED at the University of Michigan!!!!!! Dream school. So happy right now!

Thanks! And congrats to everyone else who's been lucky enough to get an acceptance. Today is a great day!
