The number of schools requiring one or more of the big four-biochemistry, microbiology, anatomy, physiology, with microbiology steadily increasing. There are a number of school that require additional science courses- math, calculus, statistics- and non science-, psychology, sociology, Spanish (Puerto Rico) . Other recommended non science courses includes: business, communication, computers, foreign language, sculpture/art/pottery, 3-D, drafting and pottery.

Can anyone clarify the UW biochem requirement? It says 12 credits of biochem are required, yet their intro courses are only 3 credits each. Is this a mistake?

There is a disconnect between numbers reported to ADEA and those on the website. The interpretation of 2 quarter equal to 1 semester may make some sense with biochemistry, which is a 3 unit course (http://depts.washington.edu/biowww/pages/undergraduate.shtml), but not so much with organic, a 4 unit course (https://www.washington.edu/students/crscat/chem.html), and even less with general chemistry, each a 5 unit (quarter) course. If what is shown is correct, it would make UW the only school in the country that considers physics twice as important as general, organic or biochemistry (http://dental.washington.edu/prospective-students/admissions/requirements/).
