Sorry for the delay in updates, guys, I got my first rejection yesterday and didn't feel like looking at this thread much last night 😉

Sorry about the rejection, hang in there! What I find the most comforting is that (unlike internship) if for some reason getting a postdoc doesn't work out it will in no way impact getting our degrees and finishing with school! It also seems as if post-doc opportunites are continually opening up, even up to the very end of internship sometimes, so there may still be some options out there we don't even know about 🙂 and thanks again for keeping this thread running I really appreacite it!

Thanks for the support! I'm trying to keep that in mind. I've also been told that a lot of positions end up not filling, so it's pretty doable to get one of those.

Post-doc opportunities DO open up all throughout the year. This is especially true for academic settings/university counseling clinics, as far as I have noticed. So there is this frenzy now and it seems there is a "season" for neuropsych positions, but for more general settings, including VAs, it is way more variable then pre-doc and good opportunities continue to come up.

Hey! Another neuropsych applicant here. I am waiting on West Virginia University, Cleveland Clinic , and UVA - Neurology (Fuchs). My friend applied to University of Toledo and hasn't heard anything yet. Hope that helps. Wondering how many places are closed today for the holiday.

I'm also waiting for Univ of Toledo and UVA/Western State. Current post docs have told me that they eventually heard from all their sites so here's hoping we get answers this week.

I know that some tracks have heard back and others have not. I know the Women's Trauma Track got personal phone calls from supervisors of that track a week ago. I have not heard anything else! It's been over a month and I feel like we should have heard by now.

I received a similar "on file" email from a diff VA except mine said in the event an interview position opened up. It was an odd rejection letter.

UVA/Western State- I got a rejection today. My first. Didn't sting. I wasn't even sure if sites would send rejections really, and I applied to too many places based on supervisor's advice, so I have a lot of interviews. Also, there are 2 UVA post-doc fellowships- [SoCloseYet So far way] so UVA Neurology has sent out invites, seems like UVA/Western is doing so this week.
Waiting on UToledo also...

Update: Got second rejection.... UToledo, lol. Now feeling a bit bummed 🙁guess it's rejection week for me. But I'm optimistic about the interviews I have :cat:

Just like on internship, I think you should send Thank-You notes. I know people who didn't and matched, so it's not a must. If a site says not to, then don't. The post-doc process and interviews are pretty similar to internship- the only difference is I have less anxiety because at the end of the day they can't take my doctorate away. Grad school and getting an internship has been the stress in my life, not post-doc. Worst case scenario- I get a job, boo hoo, lol.:nod:

Received both rejections today too. I guess I already crossed off UVA so I wasn't surprised. Toledo was also sort of expected for me. Now, I'm crossing my fingers that I hear from the remaining sites tomorrow.

Lol, I don't send out Thank you emails to sites that rejected me. I thought about it- like "Thanks for reviewing my materials and deeming me unworthy" 😉. I think they understand if I don't respond to them.

I think the one I found most awkward was from a site that hinted I was waitlisted for an interview. Ummm...I have time for that? 😵

Actually, just for the record, I emailed the training director well before applying about one of the new tracks they sent out an email about, but didn't have information about in their brochure and never heard back from him at all.
