I just got a request for my spring grades that weren't on my amcas app, but I got two C's that quarter.

From the email

"After a preliminary review of your application, the College of Medicine Admissions Committee requires additional information to make the most informed decision on your application."

I'm probably screwed huh?

You have to report all your grades though and they see that there are grades missing especially if you sent in your transcript....send a copy of an unofficial transcript and just let whatever happens happen...they send out these emails to everyone who's currently in school or if they have something missing. Don't think too much into it for now

Does anyone know until what time the interview goes? i have an afternoon interview and I am trying to buy my return flight for later that day.

If you have an afternoon interview, you should be free to leave once it's over (so like an hour or so after your interview time). Your day will consist of a student lead tour/lunch, which takes place during the ms2 lunch break which is normally either 12-1 or 1230-130. Other than that, you have the OPTION of a 3pm residence hall tour, or a financial aid meeting. But the interview day itself is one of the shorter ones I went to
 
Just received a request for fall term grades, since they said they need more info to make a decision on my application. Complete on 8/23, 3.47 gpa with 520 MCAT. Anyone know what this means?
 
For people who completed the secondary, did you input the grade shown on your transcript or the AMCAS grade?

My stats are so similar to yours its scary. I still have one year left in undergrad.

So yesterday:Hold for fall semester grades
IS LizzyM~70-71
Complete 8/15

I would assume it can't be that bad. I mean why would they even wait for my fall grades if they weren't interested. Looks like we both need 4.0 semesters to show we aren't total chumps in school 🙂

Yeah, it kinda sucks because I really wanted to coast this semester lol. What's your stat breakdown?

So we're almost in the same boat lol. My sgpa is pretty much the same as my cgpa.
Maybe they'll give us an interview if we ace this semester?
Honestly I'm ready to cry lol I have no II's and this was one of my top choices

I would assume so. Otherwise why else even ask us for the Fall Grades.

Don't lose hope dude, getting holds from schools I thought I had my best chance, and my first II from a school i considered to be no chance.

A lot of people who get holds, waitlisted, etc get in. Check out last years Downstate Thread. People were getting called off the waitlist all the way until Aug 15th!

Just got II! OOS

What's the best airport to fly into?
 
Dumb question, but to accept your II did you reply to the e-mail with the invitation, or did you send a completely new e-mail with a subject/body/etc?

II! OOS, grew up in central NY. They scheduled me for one date.

Are airbnb/hostels worth it? I feel like I shouldn't be paying an extra $100 for a hotel.

For NYC natives, do you prefer the bus or subway for 20+min distances in the city? Uber or taxis for shorter distances?

Subway for mostly everything as a native. and buses for short distances. Taxi and Uber I feel mostly Manhatten people use but I am a cheap person.

I'm sure there are people complete in the first week of July who also haven't heard anything, some people with better stats and some with stats that aren't as strong. It is still early in the cycle to be hearing about IIs.
Just have faith in your app and yourself, and keep calm as this long process unfolds. It is out of your hands until you get an II and then after your interview day it will be out of your hands again.
 
Anyone else get a request/hold for fall grades yet?

Most of the SUNY schools don't review apps sequentially. I was complete July 3rd (2014) and got an ii January 6th lol. Just sit tight and let the cycle unfold. Def have hope!

Complete July 1st, still waiting... This gives me hope!

Secondary received: 7/12, submitted: 8/17
OOS, LizzyM 73, academic medicine focus on app (research and teaching) with some unique personal interest extracurriculars, 1 gap year

Does anyone know how long it takes to do a re-review of the application? They asked me for additional information at the end of August, which I submitted just under 24 hours, but haven't heard anything from them since.
