Hey, I interviewed on 11/30 too. I was wondering the same thing and was worried that not having heard back by now meant I wasn't accepted. But if neither of us has heard anything, then it seems like maybe they're just behind? Still there was someone on here who was accepted on Dec. 16 and interviewed on 11/29 so it seems kind of odd that it's taken them this long for the 11/30 group even with the holidays.

I just conducted my
'Interviews" this past Wednesday. Going to be honest, my stats are piss poor compared to my high school academic achievement (35 ACT 800 Math SAT 780/4 Chem 750/4 Bio 4 Calc, etc.) Thanks to pledging and what not, i.e. college, I ended up with a 3.3 and a 508 with letters of recommendations from former Boonshoft alum, paid internship with a cardiology department, double major of Chem and Business Legal Studies with a Premed CoMajor. I am also in premed organizations at my university. As nerdy as it sounds, the interviewing doctor and I spent a good 30 minutes debating topics such as WWI, WWII, and the upcoming changes in Healthcare. In my opinion, it went quite smoothly. The 2nd consisted of another one with a 2nd year, anxious medical student. I attempted to be amiable and professional with her, yet all of her questions seemed dull and undirected. She questioned my town size, number of siblings/names/etc. my relationships with them, and, lastly, what "I am most proud of? (to which I responded that I am most proud of myself for working hard enough to reach this point) They were clearly geared towards a psychological examination of some sort, but I am unsure how I did on them to be quite honest. They generally seemed to baffle me at first.

Finally, after reading all of this, what tips for other interviews/reviews do you have? And do you think I can be one of the 20% accepted???? My Lizzy M Score is like a 63. Be honest brothers

Hello Everyone,

I interviewed here on 11/30/16 and have yet to here back from them. At the interview, they said that I should hear back from them around the first week of January due to the holidays. I was wondering if anyone else has heard back from them near this interview date. Any information would be helpful. Thank you!

I guess we'll just have to continue being patient!

I interviewed on 11/29 and just called the office of admissions to get an update on whether information had been mailed out about decisions. The woman who answered my call said that my application went through committee on the 4th (I would assume the 4th of December) and she was waiting on something from Dr. Toussaint before mailing out the letters.

Does anyone know how many seats are filled/left at this point?

Anyone with a subpar mcat who is OOS get any updates?
In state with a very low MCAT. They really look at the whole person not a number which is what I love about this place. Don't lose hope, there are still plenty of interview dates left.

I was complete mid July and didn't hear a word until the day before they closed for holidays. PM me for stats

I just looked at one of my emails from wright... they say "Don't mail/email them with updates." Can anyone speak for that - i.e. did they email with updates?

I didn't send an update, but judging by that email, it sounds like you probably shouldn't

They said they usually take the whole top tier and part of the middle so you still have a good chance!

Thanks for letting me know! I haven't had a good cycle so I was really bummed about this. But I'll try to keep my hopes up!

So I know I had posted about this a few months earlier, but I am starting to worry now....I have been complete since mid-July and have heard nothing. Should I call admissions? Should I just assume I've been rejected? I wish I had a portal to check.

+1 completed late August but still waiting...

Hello all,

Boonshoft SOM is my #1 pick for medical school. However, I feel like getting in is largely impossible due to my not understanding what it meant to study and having been too proud to seek help when I got my degree. Because of this, I am currently focusing on DO school, though I would love to be surprised with an acceptance at BSOM.

Since my first bachelor's, I have learned how to study and how to ask for help when I need it, and so have a science-heavy post-bach GPA of 4.0 while working full time. I'm currently studying for the MCAT and am expecting something around 510 +/- 5, have 200+ clinical hours, am currently working with a research MD on getting published, and am set up for 24+ hours of shadowing in three specialties (and intend to double that before applying). I am a nontraditional student from a disadvantaged background who now lives within 10 minutes of the school and intends to ultimately practice in the area.

I heard that BSOM considers trends and mine are strong, i just don't know how much they consider them... and that's important as (even including my recent semesters with a 4.0) my cGPA will only be around 2.9 and my sGPA will be around 3.1...

I fully recognize that I'm not competitive, but do I have an appreciable shot? Hearing from an adcom or someone in a similar situation who applied would be especially helpful. PMs welcome.

I'm pretty sure our gpa cut off is higher than what you are anticipating. Yes, we do like trends, but there is a benchmark you will need to reach first. I don't remember the exact number, but you could probably call the admissions office and ask.

Thank you for your response. I will try to reach out to them and see what I can find.

Any news for those who interviewed in the first week of January? I can't take this waiting period.

I interviewed on jan3
My interviewer said the last week of January.. but i know someone who interviewed the same day already got accepted

is there a facebook group or anything yet? Does anyone know where housing for M1 students usually is?

Does anyone know the post-interview acceptance rate? It seems like if you interview, you must have a good shot or I doubt they would waste time fitting us for white coats and telling us we should submit their school code on our FAFSA now.

They are definitely looking for something specific. Despite my MCAT and GPA being pretty far above their average, I was waitlisted. I think it was because I am looking to become a specialist and they put a large emphasis on primary care. I do not know their acceptance rate, but I can speak to their specificity.

They do not put a preference based on pursued specialty and do not emphasize primary care. I can assure you that. The majority does go into primary care, just like every school however they will not push anyone towards primary care.

I understand what you are saying, but my interviewer looked at me and said, "You have a lot of experience with surgeons. Based on what I see in your application it would seem you want to be a surgeon. You know we are a primary care school, right?" So, I don't know if that is the culture of the whole school, but that was my experience.

I understand that was your experience but I just want to clear the public misconception that we are focused on primary care. I believe the school was founded to help with the primary care shortage in the 70's but we are not "a primary care school" todays terms. I made it pretty clear when I interviewed I was interested in surgery along with probably 1/3 of my classmates that came to school primarily focused on surgery and specialties. I am not on the interview committee but I wouldn't bank on your interest in a specialty putting you into a waitlist pile.

Thank you for your input. I guess I didn't fit the mold.

A waitlist spot is far from not fitting the mold. 2017 is a tough time to try and get into medical school; only 10% of applicants at each school (if that) are lucky enough to even be granted an interview

Since I still have until the end of next week to find out my interview results, I decided to kill time and try to reduce the torture by reading the entire 2015-2016 thread. For those of you on the wait list or still hoping for an II, here are screenshots that might help. They started accepting people from the middle tier wait list in May. These posts are from Debbie who worked in admissions but she retired a few months ago. I think I may know everything there is to know about WSU now.

Hey all,

I have been accepted and really loved the school, but after careful consideration I have decided to further my education a little closer to home. Can anyone give me proper procedure to withdraw myself from the class? Thanks, and good luck to everyone!

For those who were accepted, how long after the email did it take to get your packet in the mail? I got my email Friday and still haven't received anything.

Hello All,

Anybody here who interviewed on January 31st hear anything back yet?
