Another ERAS season begins today, best of luck to everyone out there applying this cycle!

I've copied the links of the past two application cycle threads so people can see when interviews were sent out and what the interview dates were.

2016-2017: 2016-2017 PM&R Application Cycle

2015-2016: 2015-16 PM&R Application Cycle

Here are some other links that might be helpful

When PM&R interviews are offered

PM&R advice to applicants

The format of last year was fairly easy to review so let's try to follow that with separating the programs by state and following the interview offer dates with the interview dates in parentheses.

Hey All!

I started a spreadsheet last year for people to share all of their info. It includes interview offer dates, rejection dates, last year's doximity info, interview dates, and interview impressions. Here is the link:

Apparently it is causing problems. I deleted the link. Good luck!

I made a blank one for your class. If someone is interested in managing/moderating it, let me know.

Again, causing problems, so link is gone. Good luck!

Good luck everyone. It's a very exciting time...make sure you get the opportunity to enjoy the places you visit. It's not very often that you get to travel the country like a rock-star. Also make sure to take care of yourself...it can be a tiring process.

If anyone has questions about Mayo, I'll be happy to answer.

+1 you're gonna be living there for awhile, might as well tour the city and make sure it's a good fit.

Thanks for making this. I have a tech question... is there a way to view this as a standalone google sheet rather than viewing it embedded in the thread? For some reason any time I click on a cell in the google sheet the page automatically jumps to the top of the thread and refreshes ... pretty annoying bug... also would love to be able to view it on a larger window than just the embedded small window. Thanks!

Hey ROB,

Thanks for the googlesheets, I'm sure everyone is very appreciative!!!

Is there any way that you could delete the media tag and just leave it as a link? It messes up a lot of our browsers.

Also, is there any way that you could delete the Q&A so it can be refreshed for this year?

Again, thanks so much for the google sheets, I'm glad so many people are already filling it in!

Tried. Couldn't remove tag. Seems like it was a problem, so gone now. Good luck!

Almost gave me a heart attack to see the spreadsheet gone! Thanks for giving it a shot though, hopefully someone else will find a workaround.

this is @RehabOrBust document. It seems to not be working in the orginal post so i just reuploaded it if you dont mind. Please contact me if you want me to take it down, just thought I give other people a chance to access it who were also having problems with it on sdn

Thanks for doing that! If it ends up giving other folks problems would you mind just posting it in a separate thread?

thanks again... is it possible to just post the link to the google sheet? or how did you download it previously? thanks!

I tried using different browsers and it seemed to work best with chrome whereas with firefox I was getting the same issue you were. I'd try some different browsers and see if that helps.

So, 1/4 of programs have sent out invites...starting to get spooked

Most programs put out multiple waves of invites. The halfway point is typically late October to early November.

Starting to get nervous as well. I actually interviewed last week at my home program, but other than that, crickets. Very anxious considering I applied to 50programs

I have a few so far. University of Alabama, Vidant ECU, Kessler, Hollywood Memorial, Case Western, Albany Med. Honestly don't know why I have them, I think it's random. My step 1 is lower than the average PM&R acceptance/applicant.

I have two so far, but they are from programs where I rotated. I'd really like to get some from other programs so I didn't feel like they are just courtesy invites because I rotated there.

For those interested in wound care, ECU (Vidant) is one of the better programs for that area. Completion of residency there allows one to sit for board certification for wound management. They have several hyperbaric chambers there run by PM&R for non-healing wounds (big deal for diabetics and immunocompromised patients).

Hi Everyone! Thanks for keeping the spreadsheet going. Just wondering if anyone willing to swap interview dates with me for University of Washington?

My Interview: University of Washington on 1/5
Desired Date: 11/3

Anyone with a Nassau interview willing to trade? Desired date November 3, my interview date is November 17.

Invites are still dragging really slow
Same. I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that I probably won’t be getting too many more invites. Based on the spreadsheet, 3/4 of programs have sent interview invitations. I only have 2.... was hoping for 10 lol. Might be time to come up with a backup plan

Nrmp says that about 50% of invites are out at the end of October, looking at past threads though I don't see many people posting about invites compared to October
I think most people are just filling in the excel sheet for the sake of anonymity

Anyone get an invite from Schwab but no option to schedule under the interview tab?

I know people should never be comfortable about match but how many interview would you guys say one should get to feel confident, especially with the amount of programs pm&r has?

You can check out the nrmp data on the average number of programs ranked and percentage matched. For 2016, I think the number is something like 12 for having around or above 90% match rate. Since you should only rank the programs you interviewed, 12 seems like a pretty good indicator.

I may be completely off, but didn't their ERAS message ask that we reply directly to the message regarding our interest? My assumption was that rolling requests would be sent based off of these responses. There weren't any availabilities by the time I checked the interview tab.

I think you misinterpreted the ERAS message. There were only a few dates left available to schedule an interview, and they said to put your name down on the waitlist for a date if you couldn't get the one you wanted.

We are at the point where most first round invites are out, I would give this advice:
If you are middle of the road (you should know where you stand going into this), you may have received 3-6 invites. My guess is more will come your way as people cancel.
If those programs are the bottom 3-6 programs per Doximity, you may be out of luck.
If there are 2-3 programs that are middle of the road (not top 10) that you are truly interested in, call, email, send paper mail, knock on their door- whatever. Let them know you are actually interested. Tell them very specifically why you are interested.
Programs are playing the match game too, and they want to invite people who are qualified AND will rank them.

Is it too early for this? I only have two interview invites so far, both at places that I did away rotations at. I fit in really well with these programs, and I’m pretty sure if I’m going to match, it will probably be with one of these programs.

I’m tempted to email some other programs about interviews, but based on some past threads it seems like people start emailing sometime in mid November. Maybe I should start doing it, I’m very nervous.

I applied very broadly, about 50 programs. Below average board scores but no red flags. I think this year will Show how difficult it is to match pm&r. Hope everyone is having a bit more success than me

I think RehaborBust had a good point. If you look at the PM&R public excel sheet, a majority of programs have began to send out invitations already. The first wave of interview invites likely correlates to the applicants a particular program is most interested in assessing for fit. However, from previous NRMP PD survey data 48% of interviews have been extended by the END of october (n=30 PDs). This means November is still a busy month for interview invitations. Don't give up hope.
