For those of you applying this term...
Is the personal statement the same as the following question commonly asked by every school's application, or are they two different identities.
"Please describe what inspires your decision for becoming an optometrist, including your preparation for training in this profession, your aptitude and motivation, the basis for your interest in optometry, and your future career goals"

That is basically the personal statement prompt, though they don’t specify it as the personal statement on the applications. It’s just an essay portion prompt on the application itself per school’s program.

I must of gotten them confused. Thank you for clarifying. So, the same personal statement I'm uploading to OPTOMCAS is the same I'm submitting to each school correct?

Yes, you'll be prompted to submit that personal statement on OptomCAS under each school's program section. They'll all have that prompt and essentially you would just copy and paste your personal statement into each of them (if you decide to keep it the same for all of them).

"Please describe what inspires your decision for becoming an optometrist, including your preparation for training in this profession, your aptitude and motivation, the basis for your interest in optometry, and your future career goals. Your essay should be limited to 4500 characters."

4500 characters includes spaces and such.
