Thanks! I'm wondering if people have been noticing their applications have been reviewed on FC (fellowship council) without getting an invite. Are they starting to send out invites yet?
 
I personally haven't heard from any places sending out interviews. There are some places sending out the "hey we're looking at your stuff" emails and asking if you have any questions though.

What have people been doing for programs that require the TOEFL exam? Has anyone contacted a program to ask? Seems absurd for a native speaker who graduated from American medical school/residency.

Strange Geisinger hasn’t even reviewed my application. Put it in Dec 1 too.

It just means they've accessed your application, I had a bunch of programs go to reviewed and then later got a couple interviews, I'm sure they will keep trickling in based on previous years threads it should pick up in January.

I just assumed this was required only for FMGs.

Some previous residents I know said that one or two places asked about it but I'm not going to worry about it, there is so much more in our applications than just another number. If you had done poorly in the past you may want to try hard so that you could bring it up in case low scores come up and you can show improvement.

I’ve noticed some programs that have sent out interviews haven’t even accessed my application. Any one else experienced this or reached out to programs about it?

I've noticed the same thing
For example, it looks like VCU hasn't even opened my app yet.
 
Same VCU and Baystate haven’t accessed my application either. Maybe they review and offer interviews on a rolling basis 🤷‍♀️

USMLE: below average to average
ABSITE: average above 70th with third year being the highest
Research: 14 total (including presentations/book chapters/articles, half from med school)
Letters: was told they were excellent at last interview
Operative experience: around 800 major cases
