I think only Monte, Rutgers, and NYU are allowing visitors right now.

Not every week has 4. That’s just our limit. We have current residents who were externs with 3 others and they stood out among the crowd. Maybe you can too? 😉

Can anyone share for the schools that are doing virtual externships what this consists of?
If anyone would like to share which programs those are that would also be appreciated

Our virtual externship at Parkland is a one week or two week experience. You are given the links to our Monday, Wednesday and Friday conferences as well as time to meet with the residents and faculty. Most importantly, you get some one on one time with the program director 😎

We also have in-person externships but for those who cannot do in-person, we offer the virtual experience

How is the externship there? Are the students allowed to do anything, or just to observe?

I think it depends on the affiliation or something weird...some schools allow their students to scrub in and be hands on...others do night. I would email our PC - Lori O'Reilly about this. The externship seems to be one that students really enjoy, they are involved in our didactic lectures that week, scrub in, go to our different clinics and hospitals, etc.
