Summary of interesting trends:
  • Applications went down but applicants (who applied) went up (continuing since 2019 cycle), so the applications per person ratio was up to 4.44
  • 2040 matriculants from 2868 applicants (71% acceptance rate, slightly lower than 73% the previous cycle.
  • Median matriculant age is 22, and more women than men (1447 matriculant women/female, 71%).
  • Race/Ethnicity comparisons in Figure 9-12 show a slight increase in success for White/Caucasian and Asian subgroups (at least 70% of applicants were accepted). Historically underrepresented groups generally fared less successfully (Black/African American 100/188, 53%; Latinx/Hispanic 230/374, 61.5%), Indigenous/Alaska/Hawaiian/PacIsl 28/52, 53.8%)
  • States with over 100 applicants: California, Texas, Florida, New York, Illinois, Michigan (top 26 listed in report)
  • Figure 24 shows 3475 took the OAT, even though many schools started taking alternate exams or test-optional beginning in 2017-2018.
