2025-2026 Burrell Secondary Essay Prompts:

1. In what area of medicine do you see yourself practicing, and in what type of setting? (300)

2. Reflect on a previous experience where you interacted with individuals from a different background than your own. What challenges did this present, if any? How did you demonstrate openness to their perspective? How will the experience influence your approach to patient care in the future? (300)

3. If you could strengthen one area of your application, what would it be? What have you done, or what do you plan to do, to address it and improve going forward? (300)

Good luck to everyone applying!

Thank you for offering this assistance. I had four questions 1) Is there a secondary application? 2) Are you screened before you get one? 3) If so, what is your typical criteria? 4) Where can one sign up for upcoming info sessions?

Thanks for your questions!

Supplemental Application: Yes, we do have a secondary application. Applicants who meet the minimum pre-screening requirements will be invited to complete and submit a Supplemental Application (Reference).

We offer applicants a few ways to connect with Burrell, with more coming throughout the cycle. For now, the best way to stay up-to-date is to register for a campus visit (in-person or virtual) and sign up for our mailing list.

Hi! Does Burrell take the highest of my MCAT scores or the most recent? Additionally, have secondaries been sent out yet?

Like other programs, we have access to all MCAT scores listed on your AACOMAS application. Yes, secondaries have started rolling out; however, this was just turned on, so it might take a few days. If you are curious about your status, please email us at [email protected].

Hi guys, I received this message from their admissions : We received your Burrell College of Osteopathic Medicine designation! Unfortunately, your application cannot progress until your official MCAT information has been received by AACOMAS and verified.

I checked AACOMAS and it looked like my documents are complete and verified.

Please get in touch with our office directly, and we will be happy to assist you. Sometimes, this is a timing issue where we receive an application before the MCAT has been verified. We would be glad to look into this further.
