I didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I'd make one since many of us are likely in the process of applying for this year's scholarships.

Does anyone know if any of the branches (AF, Army, Navy) still do provisional (early) acceptances for high-stat applicants? I know they all have done it in the past, but I haven't heard anything about it more recently. My mentor got the Army scholarship before dental school decision day (10 years ago).

I asked the same question to my AMEDD recruiter a couple of weeks ago. He told me that the board is scheduled for sometime in December. At least from his end, he has never heard or seen any early acceptance for HPSP.

Yeah, I'll ask my recruiters soon and update you if they say it still exists.

My understanding is nobody gets accepted til about March . You need to have an acceptance from a school before they will fully evaluate your application. Best to get it all in , including the medical portion by January. Update with an acceptance as soon as you have it

Does anyone know what to expect for HPSP interviews? I'm in the process of applying for the navy HPSP, and prob gonna do both of my interviews in a month or so. Just wondering if there's any etiquette, or things that absolutely raise a red flag for them that I should probably avoid?

I've done both of my Navy interviews. They were both very relaxed and conversational. Dress formally, address your interviewer respectfully sir/ma'am/their rank, and be prepared for obvious interview questions: why dentistry, why navy, tell me about yourself...
