Short Answer Responses:
1) If you took time off between earning your baccalaureate degree and applying to medical school, please explain why. (250 words)
2) Please include any updates to your application that you would like the Admissions Committee to consider when reviewing your file. This may include changes since the submission of your primary application, information not addressed in previous questions, or additional insights into your academic journey thus far. There are various other short answer responses that show up if you click 'yes' for a question.

Good luck to all applying!

Facts, I feel you on that. I had a small break before having to send this one, so it wasn't too bad. Same with the video assessment.
How was the video? Obviously dont tell me specifics, but did you feel it was chill? was it like casper? I just finished my secondary essays, so I'll be doing it soon

This is probably a dumb question, but should I fill this out if I haven't done anything different? Like the only thing that I have planned is shadowing, and renewing my nursing license and certifications. I have only renewed one certification so far.

Unfortunately it's a required field (I think they should fix this) so I ended up having to come up with something 250 words to be able to submit.

I'd suggest focusing on this part: "information not addressed in previous questions" -- I decided to re-word a secondary question from another app that I liked that gave a fuller picture of me and my background.

Okay, this is great. Thank you for the input.

So I submitted my KIRA assessment today, and got email saying “you’ve completed your assessment for 2026 cycle”

But then I also got an email that says this: “
“I hope this message finds you well! We would like to provide a brief update on your application. We’ve received your secondary application. Thank you for completing it promptly.

At this time, we are missing your Kira Video Assessment.”

Not sure what to do…

They took a couple days to update my KIRA completion in the portal. It's done even if the portal doesn't say it's done because when you try to find the KIRA in the email they sent that link will take you to the website and tell you you've completed it.

how long after completing KIRA did they send you the complete email? couple of days? or did it just update in the portal?

I completed it last Wednesday so 8/6 but I got the secondary complete email yesterday so 8/11. I think the only reason it took more than a couple days was because of the weekend but I'm not completely sure. It also updated in the portal when they sent the email that my secondary was complete.
