4. How does the COMP Northwest Mission statement align with your values?

5. Why do you want to attend COMP Northwest in Lebanon, Oregon?

6. Have you participated in research?Yes/ No. If yes, briefly describe your role and what skills you gained from participation in the research.
Please provide us with the link to the publication or abstract if possible.

7. Briefly discuss any extenuating circumstances that you feel are pertinent to your application (poor grades, course withdrawals, lapse in your education, etc.).

@wysdoc

For the first prompt, when I paste my answer it states I have 1word remaining however when I preview my secondary app on the review page, my response is cut off. Anyone else having this issue? I tried calling but went to voicemail - not sure if they have a Lebanon specific admissions email address.

Are yall treating question number 7 - "Briefly discuss any extenuating circumstances that you feel are pertinent to your application (poor grades, course withdrawals, lapse in your education, etc.)" like the AMCAS disadvantaged essay or more using it to talk about reasons for specific bad grades or withdrawals?

If you feel like there’s a part of your application that’s weaker, use this essay to talk about it. That’s what I did. I had pretty bad grades my first two years of college. I think it’s always better to acknowledge where you’re lacking and show how you’ve grown from it.

Received review completion email, submitted 8/05

Congrats!! That's super big. If you don't mind sharing, when did you submit and what's your LM?
Thank you, super excited! My LM is 69 and I submitted my secondary 8/05 🙂

IS II. Submitted secondary 7/29

CONGRATS!!! I'm on pins and needles for this school, submitted 7/31, but think I am a good fit for one of their tracks and have tons of family nearby. Fingers crossed!

Got an interview invite. Out-of-state applicant. MCAT 511, science GPA 4.0, non-traditional

Got interview! I checked portal and saw option to schedule that hadn't been there previously. No email yet?

OOS with no ties to OR

Did you pick a day for your interview and separate day for your MMI day already? I got three emails after registering but I got one for COMP
I didn't get an invite telling me to schedule but had the option in the portal. Confirmation email says all in one day.

Actually just got the invite email. Must have peeped the link before the email came in... oops

For those of you that got an interview did you receive an email before saying you were under consideration for an interview and that a committee review was complete? I just received it and was wondering if this was a soft R? For reference I submitted secondary August 1.

I got a completion email that said this before my interview invite.

"The College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest Admissions Committee has reviewed your application to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine - Oregon (DO) program, and we are pleased to inform you that you are now under consideration for an interview. Interviews will take place online beginning in August 2025 and continue through April 2026. If you are selected for an interview at any point in the admissions cycle, you will receive an email notification outlining your next steps."

I submitted on July 29th and still have not received a secondary. Should I reach out or just wait?

Great info session tonight. Good luck to everyone who attended!

Anyone who interviewed on the 11th, do you remember the turnaround time for A and Rs?

Was the interview stressful or chill?
The 1-on-1 was really chill. The doctor on the panel I had was funny and relatable, and the student who was present was great, too.

The MMI wasn't super stressful. I would say I felt pretty cringe when I was done with it lol. I'm not sure if everyone gets the same prompts, but the ones I got didn't allow me to show too many dimensions of my character, and the actors for the situation didn't respond to what my partner and I said in a way that furthered the conversation robustly. It wound up feeling like a circular loop, and they make you use the full time, so it was like the longest 5 minutes ever both times haha

Thank you so much for getting back! This was so helpful 🙂

I submitted my secondary on 9/23 and received an email saying that the committee has reviewed my application and it’s now under review for an interview on 9/25… is that normal for them to review an app that fast? i’m not sure if it’s a bad thing & maybe they don’t like me as much?

Update, received an interview! Submitted seconday on 9/23

I met with an admissions rep and they told me decisions come back in 3 weeks!

Interviewed. They said the wait time is about 3 weeks minimum. Got an invite for an on-campus tour

For anyone curious, the interview was conversational. The interview day activities were a great way to relax and get to know the school.
