Anyone plz?

Just for funsies, anyone sorta tempted to apply for (or actually applying for) the open integrated PGY 3 and 4 spots? 👀

I haven’t - it’s risky especially if you’re in a traditional gen surg program and not supportive of plastics (or view it as b@@bs and butts specialty) because you’ll need their support at the end of the day

I wonder how many people applied this year for Independent Track

I guess there won't be any invites today or tomorrow due to the holiday but maybe 12/26 or 27? Miami, Broward, Tulane, and Houston Methodist were all supposed to send invites around this time (from last year's timeline) but sounds like there is some delay :/

I don’t think anyone’s going to send them that soon because of the Jan 10 deadline lol which is better than them trickling till end of March 🤭 and the integrated match got pushed so ours did too I guess 🥲
Agree, since this is the first year with a deadline, I don't think we can rely on last year's roll out. The magic number for predicting successful match is 8 interviews, and 13 was average according to the stats, so there are still many chances left.

Agreed. Read this article by Janis et al: "Successful matches were associated with US allopathic medical school graduates, university-affiliated general surgery residencies, eight or more interviews, United States Medical Licensing Examination scores greater than 230, and high post graduate year (PGY)1–3 American Board of Surgery In-service Training Examination scores (PGY1–64.7%, PGY2–61.2%, PGY3–60.7%; P < 0.05). An Update on the Independent Plastic Surgery Match... : Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery – Global Open."

Does anyone know what PGY year programs start their fellows at for salary? Like would you be paid a PGY 6 salary (for those coming from gen surg) or would you be paid the same as a PGY 4 integrated?

Anyone knows when UTSW sends their independent invites? It doesn’t say on the ACEPS website

Any prediction about which program is gonna send interviews this week (or maybe none due to the new year holiday)?

Is anyone available to switch interview dates for Tulane? I'm currently interviewing on 1/11 and would love if someone could switch the 3/21 date as I will be traveling on 1/10.

Did anyone get a confirmation email after selecting the date for the Tulane interview? I was able to see the confirmation on the link but wanted to double check

Best way to know where you are amongst other applicants is to anonymously share your credentials, number of interviews you have received, etc in this spreadsheet (as integrated applicants have been doing for many years)

Our pool is too small for that!
on average there is roughly 100 applicants every year (103 last year) so the number isn't small. Even if there is only 30 are willing to share their experience/stats I think that would be a good representation and helping future applicants to know where they stand - just a thought 🙂

Has anyone heard back a confirmation from the PC for their interview at IU?

2nd call: anyone willing to switch their Temple interview from 2/28 to 3/1, please?

Anyone here interviewing with Tulane on Jan 10th who has already received the interview day schedule who can let me know if they are planning on dividing candidates into an AM and PM session?
