DAT Organic Chemistry Changes Starting April 2026
The ADA is updating the Organic Chemistry section starting in April 2026. The exam is shifting away from straight memorization and more toward understanding mechanisms, synthesis-style reasoning, and spectroscopy interpretation (NMR, IR, mass spec).
In other words, students will need to understand why reactions happen, not just memorize reaction lists.
