So I am 22 today and nearing mid-life crisis. Where does the time go? I can remember graduating from high school like it was yesterday.

I just turned 22 also. And I told my mom I was having a quarter-life crisis (hopefully, I am not going to only live to be 44!) But I know what you're going through, haha. Wanna know what's crazy? 95% of my friends I have known since KINDERGARTEN! I love it though. =) I feel like this quarter-life crisis, because all of my friends are either engaged/in a relationship, graduated college, or just coasting by in life. It scares me a bit that I only have this summer to enjoy myself (aka PARTY IT UP) before I start school, BUTTTTTT at the same time, I will be a pharmacist at 26, which is going to be a slap in the face for all of those prissy brats and smarty-pants kids I went to high school with. I can't wait to rub that in their faces at our ten year reunion! /end rant

Wouldn't it be funny if you all came to your re-unions to find everyone else less educated actually MORE happy, more fulfilled in life, while the HOT SHOT PharmDs were stressing, still paying off loans, maybe over-worked, and some still actually looking for jobs in major metropolitan areas.
It would be ironic if those who expected the best for themselves, put in ALL that time and energy and education, actually turned out worse off than those very people they looked down on in the beginning.
That would be the universe's way of equalizing the masses, striking down those who were prideful; and rewarding those others who (though less educated), made an honest to goodness living.

They could be happier because they have less to worry about since they could just choose to not know about things

I've never wanted to give anyone a slap in the face by worrying about what I am doing versus what they are doing, because in the end all I can worry about is myself. I personally can not stand sitting passively and not always working towards a goal, and I more or less thrive off of stress however... which is one reason I am very happy with what I'm doing opposed to simply working after high school or undergrad, getting married, settling down, etc... but to each their own.

oh god. i can't imagine my 10-yr high school reunion. it's going to be awwwwkward since i didn't go to the school nearly half our graduating class went to and we never kept in touch.

i think i will opt out since i will be conveniently working that day:laugh:
