At the bottom of the Stafford loan website, pasted below, I read that $224,000 was the maximum amount a healthcare professional grad student can receive...

http://www.staffordloan.com/stafford-loan-info/graduate-stafford-loan.php

I plan on paying for 100% of Dental School and living expenses with student loans for four years. Here is the break down for the school I plan to attend...

Tuition, resident: $69,624
Fees : $21,837
Instruments, books & supplies: $35,856
Estimated living expenses: $97,226

Total, resident: $224,543

Is $224,000 really the limit on Stafford loans?
Can any dental student (independent) accept this maximum Stafford loan amount?
I can technically be living on an average of $24,000 per year in dental school?

You'll pay the rest with grad plus loans. There isn't a cap on what you can borrow with the grad-plus, but it has a higher interest rate (8.5%) than the stafford loans.

where did you get the 8.5% number? I have always read it to be 7.9%

Sounds like money is not an issue in dental school, especially if you're in-state.
