I just got some humbling results. 27S (8ps, 9vr, 10bs). My GPA is 3.43 from Villanova, and I'm finishing my degree in August. Should I wait for those classes to finish before I apply (will probably raise my GPA above 3.5) or apply now, as is. I'm really unsure of my chances now, any help would be appreciated.

One C+ in Physics II-All other cores are A's with a few B's

Really like Jeff, but will go anywhere to be an MD.

Moving to What are my Chances?.... Oh wait, I'm not a mod! Apply and retake the MCAT during the summer or in August. That's my suggestion.

Applying now and re-taking doesn't do you much good because your app won't be looked at until that re-take score is in. I was in the same situation last summer with a 27S. I applied now and did secondaries all summer while studying for the late Aug MCAT and getting a discouraging 26R. I ended up with 3 interviews- a private school acceptance, a rejection, and a top-25 waitlist. I would do one of the two.

1) Apply ASAP. Period.

2) Submit primary now, study all summer, retake the MCAT, start secondaries after the MCAT and have them done before the MCAT score is in.

I would personally recommend #1 as long as you apply to roughly 20 schools. Good luck.
