----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I decided retaking this torturing exam to prepare the coming admission cycle. ( I applied 9 school this cycle and got 1 interview (waitlist))
As you can see, my problem was RC 😡. I am a very very slow reader and honestly i have never read entire books more than three. Plus, I am an international student and I was also not good at RC test in my first language. ( I guess I have disorder in my language brain.) However, I really couldn't give up becoming a dentist due to my slow reading skill. So I studied and took DAT, but got same ******* 16 on RC again.

What should I do? I am seriously retaking DAT again as soon as possible. Please give me any advise guys.... I am so exhausted from this.

Comment for DAT
PAT/QR:
They evolved......😱 (today, I experienced the evolution of DAT)
Especially, QR, I felt like I am taking another RC section. Only two simple equation solving problem were given.

Bio: not too much detail, but there were many conceptual problems.
GC: one problem was extremely tough for me..🙁

OC: reactions 1/3 basic concepts 1/3(acidity, stereoisomers.....) etc1/3

RC: No comment. I dont remember what I read.

1) Not allowed to post direct material from DAT.
2)This user (azn something) got in with rc16. You probably can't apply the ones with RC cut off of 17 (use ADEA dental school guide book).
With your stats, I think you will get in somewhere. Your AA and TS is too good to retake.

I wouldn't retake the exam. Before you take the exam, I would call schools that you want to apply for and tell them your situation. Explain to them that English is your second language. Your AA and TS is great and you don't want to risk those scores either. I would not kill myself because everything else is great.

That's what I was thinking.....since many (most of?) school require minimum of 17 on each section. The more schools applying is, the better chance, right? So I took DAT again but failed passing the minimum.
Anyway, I corrected my mistake and Thanks for the advise.

I wonder if schools will make a special exception for you. Its quite clear you're only being held back due language skills not being at 100%. Like game33, I would definitely call the schools; they should be able to give you an exact answer as to how they will view this. 23 AA / 24 TS is pretty damn impressive and I hope you get in!

The user is aznboi89x, he got a 16 on RC and got into LECOM.

Caveat is....he applied to 51 schools, so I don't think putting your faith into that one example is a good idea.

You have a hard decision to make. If this had been your first DAT, a retake is pretty reasonable, but as this is your second, definitely ask the schools you're applying to. Let them know of every single detail about your application and scores, and hopefully you'll find some schools that don't take issue with the 16 RC.

Thanks guys for all your advise. Yes, I think I have to contact with school to ask their thoughts regarding my situation. If vast schools that I wish to apply prefer over 17 RCA score, then i may retake DAT again later. I can't stop here. Thanks guys anyway. Have good one guys.
