Hi,

This sticky thread says that if you indicate that you will take your DAT at a later time, that the school you are applying to will not review your application until the latest score is submitted.

Can someone verify this for me?

I am a second time applicant. I have a 21TS 19AA 17PAT.
I wanted to retake the DAT to hopefully up my PAT and RC score...

The thing is, I plan to retake the DAT in August. But if that sticky thread is right, isn't it better to get a jump on admissions and just state that I won't take the DAT again???

Anyone have any advice??

Making that claim could be problematic. They might assume you won't be retaking and just toss your app before seeing your 2nd DAT score.

what happens if you take it in August and your selected schools get scores you are not pleased with.

yeah my theory is that

jump on admissions gives me a greater competitive edge than upping my scores.

my bio, chem, o chem, and math scores were all great.

but my RC and PAT were 17s.

is it true that they won't review your application if you indicate you will retake your DAT??? even if my old scores are already there???

I am interested in the answer, too.

If you state that you will be retaking the DAT most dental schools will not review your application until the DAT scores are in. Although I have heard that AADSAS will process your application and send them to dental schools (correct me if I'm wrong).

I am in the similar situation as you, although my scores are not as high as yours (19AA/19TS/21PAT) and I will be retaking it in mid to late July. I've decided to just state that I will retake and I hopefully do not get lower scores. haha. Good luck.
