Hello,

I'm a Texas resident and am looking to apply to Texas programs as early as possible. Currently, I work full-time Monday through Friday, am taking my final two courses, and preparing for the DAT. While I aim to submit my application as early as possible, I need to delay my DAT exam until the end of June to ensure I have adequate time to prepare.
Is it possible to submit my application before taking the DAT? If so, how much time do I have after submitting my application to complete the DAT?
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

You can apply without a DAT, but schools will wait until your official score posts before they move on your application to interview consideration. Most people will schedule their exams for June as the earliest interviews go out by late July. If you are sitting on a solid GPA, you are best served to get everything in early, especially for TMDSAS.

If it's similar to AADSAS, you are able to submit without your DAT score assuming you mark the exam as "planned" on the application. Schools will wait until you take your exam before considering it "complete and under review" so while you submit early, schools wont be considering it until the score comes in. You have as much time as you need, there's no time limit, though everything needs to be submitted by their deadline, however that is generally super super late in the cycle, and chances are slim if submitting by their deadline. Early is always best.
