So, I will be graduating this upcoming semester (Spring 2014). I will be finishing my undergrad degree in Biology. I have research experience, over 125 hours volunteering at a Hospital, I have been on the E-board for three orgs on campus, and have won awards from the school for community service. The only thing that worries me is my low undergraduate GPA. I will be graduating with only a 2.9-3.0 depending on how this last semester goes for me. Over the summer I plan on taking my MCAT in August and also getting my EMT license, so I can start working after school and the MCAT are done with.
That being said, I know my chances are very low to get into Med school, but should I consider doing a post-bacc program, or should I go back to school and get a 2nd degree in Biochem or psychology? Any advice would be helpful. Feel free to be critical/harsh if need be.

You'll have to do exceptionally well on the MCAT, I think.. and a Master's program in the sciences may be the best option for you. A second Bachelor's degree is not really going to mean anything (especially not in Psych-- your sciences GPA needs to be brought up and Psych classes don't count for that). It's good that your research and service activities are good, but academics are unfortunately so much more important :/

Search SMP on studoc, that is your answer :]

Are you considering osteopathic medicine? Because you should. You wouldn't be competitive for it either, but you can retake classes and get there faster.

I actually have been looking into it since I recently shadowed a D.O. but still don't know how they recalculate my GPA if I retake some classes. I'm gonna talk to my pre health adviser about it.
