Alright people,
I know some of you out there have some pretty unique experiences and qualities. I'm curious to know if entering medical school married would be considered unique enough to add to the diversity. Or in their words "contribute to the diversity (broadly defined)" - TMDSAS

Is entering medical school married something even worth mentioning anywhere in this application process? In my experience, it's afforded me a great position to reinforce the importance of things like responsibility, humility, and sacrifice (try it sometime, I don't say these things flippantly).

Also, I've searched for threads on marriage in medical school before and haven't had much luck. Any (good, realistic) advice from you married medical students? I want your responses to benefit the others out there like me looking for some encouragement/advice as much as it might benefit me.

Thanks! 🙂

it's uncommon but not unique. either way, being married was a huge part of my success as a pre-med and in medical school, and I did talk a good bit about it during my interviews. I wouldn't be shy about it at all if you feel it's an important part of who you are and why you'll be successful (which it should be)

If marriage increased a Pre-Med's chance at med school, every pre-med would get married 🙂 Something to take into consideration where you want to go to med school etc sure but anything other than that i don't see it helping that much.
