Hey Guys. I'm planning to take the MCAT on January 2013 and i just want to know about what is the score to be competitive for me? I'm recently graduated from a Nurse School with premedical course and i want to proceed to get into Ponce Medical School in Puerto Rico. Also since when i was 14 years old i'm involved in medical areas like hospitals and laboratories and get my Medical Office Assistant and High School Diploma on a Vocational High School. I know there is a lot of student that they GPA is more superior than mine. Can the nurse practices and volunteer work in private medical office give me the change to be a prospectus to the medicine school? Thank u! 🙂!

If you are from PR, I think 25+ MCAT score will make you very competitive. The average mcat for Ponce Med School is 22 but their average GPA is 3.57. Therefore, you need a higher MCAT score to compensate for your low GPA.

Really i got D in my first chemistry class, i repeated and got a C. in my second chemistry i got another C. In organic I and II i got B and A respectively. Maths are very difficult for me. I repeated "pre-calculus 1" 4 times having 3 W and 1 F and in my last attempt i obtained "A'. Also in Precalculus 2, Calculus, Physics I and II got A's . Biology I and II obtained C and B respectively. I'm really very frustrated because i know that i can and i really love the health and medicine area since i was a child. But i take bad decision and that was the impact.
Do you think that with a good mcat i can have the opportunity to get into Ponce Medical School?
i obtained A grades in my concentration nurse classes can help me too, because they really know that i have the vocation to work on it?
Also Volunteer Medical Office work and my hospital's practices can influence?
There is a lot of student with good grades, and are very competitive in that aspect.
I really need a lot of sincerity.
