science gpa should be around the same.
have 2 quarters remaining (fifth year)
I should be able to get my gpa to 3.4+

BUT my junior year, I did very very bad due to various reasons.
took half of my classes P/NP
got 2 NP
got 3 Cs

I am aware of the "upward trend"
since I am a fifth year, this is how my trend looks like:
freshman: good
soph: very good
Junior: bad
Senior: very good
5th year (only 2 quarters); very good

Is this a good trend?

Good job bouncing back fellow 5th year, with a 3.4+ you are good to go. It would be easier to give you advice with a MCAT score though.

thank you!
I am currently taking practice exams and averaging around 505-508

Volunteering experience:
- Hospice (just got into it- have interview set to get position)
-Mind Institute clinical research 2 quarters
- volunteering for 2 years in BPSHI
-Shadowing two DOs

And I might also get an EMT license and start working as an EMT during my gap year.

I'm in literally the same situation. Upward trend derailed by one bad semester when I was dealing with some stuff. I too have a 3.35ish now without grade replacement but if everything goes as planned will have a 3.4+ sgpa. This new change has made the room for error even smaller, but if you handle these next few classes and the MCAT you will be in good shape. Truthfully, this change might ultimately help applicants like you and I as all of a sudden there are a lot of people that would have had sGPAs and cGPAS in our range with grade replacement that are now unfortunately under 3.0. This change definitely thins the field, at least for some of the DO schools.

I was going to take the mcat on Jan 28, but I may extend it to March 31 now because I dont want to take it near midterms. lol. Might as well take it a week after my winter quarter ends
